Hi everyone! Some of the mods and I have been talking about making a few changes primarily aimed at rewarding participation. We're still settling on specifics but here is the basic concept: as a person gains seniority and participates on STR, they'll earn some perks. Perks will include things like free classified ads, larger PM inboxes, etc.

Included in these changes will also be the removal of STR subscriptions (doohickeys). The paypal API that it's built on has proved buggy and kind of a hassle. Current doohickey people will get a special bonus once these changes are made though. :) BIG thank you for everybody that has ever had a doohickey. It's been a big help.

Last but not least - we'll finally be implementing vendor forums. Essentially this is a section on the forums and each subforum there will belong to individual participating shops/stores/etc. This also means that shops will not be allowed to post business related threads in other forums.

As always, feedback is encouraged and welcome. 8-[ :steppie:

The plan is to make most if not all of these changes tomorrow.

I wonder if George is going to use a cold spoon or a lipstick cap to remove your guys' doohickey..

So are we gonna be counting posts instead of "thanks" now? I've always liked that on STR, thanks counted for more than just posting.

I still think we should make another run of STR Stickers &/or jerseys as a supplemental fundraiser to the colloquially known "doohickey".

    But sounds great!
I like the way the vendor areas work on other forums of which I am a member.

A big pat on the back for George and the Mods from me!

P.S. Good luck with the changes, George. While you're at it, can you make pics show up in full rez in posts? I've written in about it several times. Can anything be done?...

I would not mind having a few STR decals to slap on the family car... and a jersey to sport on the trails. Thanks for all the work on the site!

I have a few can give you. I'm not a decal kind of guy.
I am, however , a jersey kind of guy and so is my dog. Well, she is a jersey kind of dog to be exact.
I have cash and ill spend it on people jerseys. My dog will spend doggie dollars on jerseys too.

Who else has a hankering for STR jerseys .#-o

George, will past participation count toward members' perks? Or does the count toward perk-worthy participation start today?

Good luck with the changes; we all appreciate the work you and the Mods put in.
