intrawest doesn't own Whistler, I forget the details but they had to sell it. Bad part is it sounds like the new owners are not a fan of ladder beige trails. They have closed a couple already.

Does Starwood still own the majority or did they sell it off to another REIT?

I would say way more people injured on jump trails then on ladders. Think about how many people want nothing to do with them. I think it's mostly that some were pretty old and likely needed lots of work.

So how awesome are the new jumps they built on Miracle Mile? Hit them a few times on Monday, they're really well built, perfect size and lip. Only challenge is getting the speed to clear the first step down. If you can clear it, the big table is no problem. Sure it's only 2 jumps, but it's a start. Hopefully next year they will add a real jump trail with 40+ more of the same quality.

Thanks, I was actually in Whistler a few weeks ago, there was more than enough airtime to go around ;). The new jumps on Miracle Mile felt spot on, comparable to some of the A-Line senders.
