If you live in Orange County take a look at the Santa Ana Mountains!! Drenched in snow down to 1,000 feet. Thats pretty amazing for Orange County. So will anyone be attempting to ride those trails??? I might try and drive up Maple Springs as far as I can go... Its just beautiful looking at these mountains!
Yeah, I saw some of the snow on my way up to Fontucky yesterday. A friend of mine said there was 6-8" of snow on the trail at Mt. Lowe.
has anyone ridden in the SaddleBack Mountains in the snow? How did it go? Any stories? Anyone riding Harding Truck Trail Thursday morning?
We went the weekend before Thanksgiving. in the middle of the night I got awake by Thunder and heavy rain. In the morning it was clear, so I decided to go meet the guys at The Path. We all wore 2-3 layers because it was very cold. We decided to do Maple Spring to the Motorway. When we got the the parking lot, there was a bit of snow on the grass. We started the ride, passing people making snowman. as we went up, there was more and more snow. It was getting slippery. The snow was very heavy. The only way to ride was to get in the car tracks. After a while the tire tracks were getting icy and the riding was difficult. there was about 1 foot of snow and we were still on the paved portion of the trail. Here are some pictures and I swear it's not in Canada
Yeah we went up to Trabuco Canyon around thanksgiving time and we hit some snow up there. It was already metling, but it was fun experiencing it.
