I want a 650b just reading an article about the new Norco Sight B-1. Have demoed the Jamis Nemesis. Durango bike works only builds 650b bikes and look into them in the future. Anyways nice ride love the blacked out look.

Vicious Cycle 650 Ti frame, one of the prettiest frame I've ever seen with the transparent candy coat gold paint. Carried me easily to my 2009 traverse finish.

El Bastardo custom (L/M). Built with love by the Path. Had a blast locally, at D-ville and Mount PiƱos on it. A super-fun bike that will be on the chopping block soon.

Whats the weight? Seems like they overbuilt the frame as its steel but really large tubes. How is the ride?
Looked at that as well, still considering getting a different frame and making it into a 650b. Are you always going out SS? aws it handle down steep sections?
I'm not sure I'd be good on some of my climbs but want a frame I can convert to both to test it out.

it's around 27 lbs. I did upgrade to 30" wide bars and a 60mm stem since the picture. That alone really helped over the stock parts! I was always borrowing a 29es SS that was too big for me so I bought this one and am pretty happy with it! I usually SS when my buddies can't ride so I don't do stupid stuff while alone...or if I'm taking out newbies to amuse myself.

You will need to change the gearing, I'm running 32/19. The stock gears are completely wrong for this bike and hills...

    HTH!

The vicious was just a tad to small so I had to let it go. Hit me up with your offer again about those wheels, it has been a while.

The bike handles really well. The fact that you can change the head angle is awesome. It climbs like no other 6-inch travel bike. I have ridden the Banshee rune 650 b and thought it climbed well until i rode this bike. The rear shock locks out fully but the front doesnt. The rear shock doesnt bob like the other bikes i've ridden. The only upgrades it has are the Shimano SLX brakes and a Sram x9 type 2 rear derailleur with a C-glide and a seat dropper. My local trails are Santiago oaks and it performs really well. The only downfall are the wheels and the stock derailleur.

yeah, saw that the gears were wacky. How do you like rigid? I'd prefer to have a lighter air fork to make it a more all around type bike. Seems heavy, wonder how much is tied up in the wheels and crankset, not much else to lose weight.

It's certainly tempting as a starting point and upgrade over time.

How tall are you and what size is that? Seems good with the amount of post showing. I want to get better at transferring weight around and have a bit of maneuverability over the 29ers I've tried since i'm only 5'9"

Will probably test out one of these tomorrow but its really out of my price range. They look nice

does the 650B roll better going down compared to a 26? Curious if it would make a good front downhill wheel.

I'm OK with the rigid for now, air fork will be in the future but the buy in was so low for a this 650b made me put up with a lot! Wheels, seat post, and cranks are definitely places that could help! I'm not tubeless yet, had some trouble with these stock tires and rims but will try again when they wear out.

I'm 5'8" and bought the 17" and am happy with the size as I was riding a borrowed 29" XL SS that was WAY to big for me.

This isn't my only bike so I just grab the bike I need for the trail I am on...once I get a fork I can see much more seat time on this bike...
