Wow what a ride! Its been a long while since I've been on an STR ride and I have to say that it is great to see all my old friends again. I knew it was going to be a good day when I see Painfreak Mike show up early in the morning. A few of us waited for Steppie to show up before we started the ride and as always it was a blast to ride and talk to Dean. Huge thanks to Neil for setting up the ride and Traci and SXP + wifey for getting all the snacks and beverages up to Beaks

Great ride today! Many thanks to Neil, Traci, The Path and all who made this a great ride. I brought a couple of buddies, one of whom had only been on a Mountain Bike one other time (at Fullerton). He got his new bike yesterday and was itching to rideso he came along. I am happy to say that he made it all the way to Beeks without complaint and safely back down to the car. If someone had taken me on Blackstar on my 2nd ever ride I would have cursed them to no end. I'm sure he'll be sore tomorrow, but I think he had a great time. We finished off the day with huge burritos at Chronic Taco. Sorry that I didn't get to chat to much with some folks that I hadn't seen in a while (I didn't even know Kid A was there until I say this thread), oh well, next time.

talk about crazy! It was good to see everyone. the climb was awesome because no matter what you did (spin, stop, walk, ect.) there was someone you know waiting or passing you!

Didn't get too many pictures of the climb due to rain. Thankfully, my camelbak Mule NV has this rad all weather(aka Rain) bag thing that is stowed away most of the year, but today it got its second use. Its waterproof and keeps everything nice and dry even with more rain than we had today.

    On to the Pictures!!!

Fun ride today -- thanks everyone for making it so much fun.

BTW, who do we have to thank for the Bass beer and donuts? Probably my new favorite recovery meal :)

I had a super fun time riding with all. It was my first group ride and I will be back again for more. My helmet goes off to the crew and the path for setting it all up and providing some refreshments at the top. Could not have asked for a better ride. Thanks Everyone.

Donuts were supplied by SXP his wife and their dog. Along with all the help getting everything up there. HUGE shout out to them we couldn't have pulled it off with them!!

Great to see so many old and new faces at the top! This ride was a success thanks to you all!!
So thank YOU for coming out!

Ps. Thanks Neil for thinking STR needed one of these rides and thanks to The Path for the cold bevis, cookies, and fruit :)

The dog was really cool. It came up and checked me out early on but wouldn't get close enough to let me pet. Hadn't seen it in a while, but when I got my sandwich out of my backpack and turned around and the dog had suddenly and mysteriously appeared out of nowhere asking politely for a little taste. What breed is it?

I had a blast yesterday even though I "wussed" out when my V got cold and wet! I got the chance to meet some OG's and ride with friends that have "fallen off the face of the earth" (SteveC). Tony (Blindman_22) and tha HAB crew rode awesome, BikeThePlanet is now a goat (he beat Kimmi up to Beeks with only a 2:15 head start!), we'll be ridding Harding soon, anyone care to join? The post ride lunch at Taco Mesa was one that will NEVER be forgotten!
    Merry Christmas STR family members!

    BTW TWC,
Cold and wet V is not good!
Warm and wet V is very good!

great ride! thanks to Neil and crew that helped put this ride together. i had a great time riding with old and new friends. i was a little pressed for time so i didn't get to mingle as much as i would have liked. i knew the it was going to be a good ride when i went to say hi to folks and the trash talking started immediately. also wanted to thank the Thomas (wild child) for convincing the group to push a little further and see if the weather got better.

side story that i thought i'd share.
as dakit and i were driving out we'd figured we try to chat up a female rider. she was riding along with long curly hair. i rolled down the passenger window and slowly drove up beside her. i yelled out "excuse me miss". that's when Ryan (biketheplanet) turned around #-o:lol:
