I'm coming up Fri. morning is there any way you can get the wheel to me? I'm in Yucaipa and the path is too far in the opposite direction.

My kids and I are going up for the race. Kids will be racing and I'll be taking photos.
We will be staying till Tuesday so I can check out some XC trails on Monday with my kids.
My question is, this will be our first time in Mammoth, can someone recommend a kid friendly (11 and 17 year old DHer's who don't like pedaling) XC trail we could do? Maybe something around 7 to 10 miles with not a lot of climbing?
    Thank you!

For an easy kid friendly trail you can take Downtown from the main lodge down into town. It's about 5 miles, all singletrack, mostly very easy, but it is pretty much the same the entire way down (gets a little old).

For a much more fun trail that would still be doable if your kids have a little skill would be to take the gondola up and take the easiest trail down. I think it's called "Off the Top". It's an intermediate xc type trail. Nearly all downhill if you take one of the cutoffs and hop on the Kamikaze for a short bit when you get closer to the bottom. There's a lot of variety on that trail and would be a blast for your kids.

Wish I could justify it..... Unsanctioned race. Man it's getting weirder all the time.

You should take your skirt off and race expert. You'll do fine.
