First race was this last weekend - great course with real meaty singletrack both up and down! In my humble opinion this is the most fun course in So Cal.

Next race in the series is July 13th. Here is a linkie to the web site (they're also on Facebook)
http://rimnordic.com/2013-racing-schedule (says 2013 but will take you to '14 schedule)

I need some more old dudes to try and beat me in Sport Class 55-59 so come on down and see if you can do it or I'll be forced to move up to Expert:lol:8-[

I agree, the Rim Nordic series is one of the best in So. Cal. Love the courses, the people and the competition. Speaking of competition, your time this weekend beat all the Expert Class 55-59 riders. So I think the real challenge is already established. Have fun in the expert class.

I couldn't agree more about Rim Nordic. It's the best kept secret in SoCal MTB racing. They have amazing trails through pine forests. Tons of singletrack but still plenty of room to pass because the course isn't packed with all the classes at once. It's the most spectator friendly venue around. They have a great snack bar, the spectators get to see the racers multiple times per lap, and there are multiple laps all within view from the comfort of a pine shaded picnic area. The fees are super reasonable too at only $35/race and no USAC license required. The promoters do it for the love of the sport and really listen to the racers. I'll be up there again but I'm a little younger in the 45-49 Exp class. Good luck!

Race #2 was run on an even more fun course than the first one! Rocks, roots, bermed slalomy downhill ST and of course, very tough twisty ST climbs! Moved up to Cat1 / Expert and did better than I thought even after leaving several generous skin samples along the course. My girlfriend (I should say "dominant other") moved up from Cat3 to Cat 2 and still won by 3 minutes - congrats Tracy!

I think the turnout was bigger this time and thankfully more ladies came out to race. Lots of kids participated in the kids race - medals and t-shirts were won by all. Hope to see a bunch of you out there for the rest of the series! AJ - get your G2 Crew back up there - we missed you guys!

I was up there yesterday and really enjoyed the course. The lack of rain made some of those climbs very tough to get any traction. I also took a 2 week lazy man break from riding and rolled up to the start line with no warm up. I was somehow able to get the 1st place spot in the Cat 2 Single speed division and my 6 year old daughter did the kids race or as she calls it "her first mountain bike race". Great scene up there and really well run with a fun family atmosphere.

Smallish turnout for the Stage Race this last weekend :( Kudos to all who did come out and race!!!

The short events Saturday (Hill climb, SuperD, and Dirt Crit) were super competitive and kicked my @ss but great fun. The perfectly timed overnight rain made the XC course perfect hero dirt on Sunday which totally refreshed the heavy legs from Saturday's racing!

My GF and and I did well and really enjoyed the whole experience! Even my most dreaded event - the Dirt Crit - was good to me this time.

The last XC event is coming up on Aug 17th. Get up there and get some!! I promise you won't regret it - racing on twisty single track under the pines in crisp mountain air - there's no other course like it in So Cal (10X more fun and challenging than Big Bear XC course).

    See you there!

Enduro racing is still on - next race is TBD in September. Check the Rim Nordic web site...

I was thinking about it, but the entry is a little too steep for my budget right now. #-o
