I talked to a guy at the Laguna hills store on Monday and he said he would price match JensonUSA no problem. He also said that the discount is bigger on Tuesdays. Not sure why.......But it is.

Not sure I'll go that far yet - they still need better products - but I was in there a few weeks ago for some Gu, and had a good chat with a cool guy who actually rides. He knew local trails and even talked about the high-end stuff he'd bought at a well-respected LBS. That was a refreshing change of pace.

I have not had the best experience with that manager but my buddy has. My buddy swears by him too. I just don't get the experience I want for my hard earned dollar.

Laguna Hills Performance recently price matched their website for me; save $5.
I had to mention it though, if I hadn't = one less beer for me.

At Performance Tustin, I saw this kid ask a staff member to put on handlebar tape on his road bike. The staff dude told the kid to make an appointment. Geez, it's like a 5-10 minute job.

That's standard procedure at all Performance shops, and a really, really stupid policy. They'll tell you that their internet sales division is separate and that the shops don't know the online prices. Lame way to do business.

Ridiculous! I hope you literally laughed in their faces at that one!

I think all Performance bike shops should close out. They carry the cheapest brands, the worst bikes and they hardly have any parts in stock.

    I disagree!

The Tustin store blows! I've had good luck at the Laguna Hills store. They are a great store for kid's bikes, family bikes, nutritionals, tubes, etc. I think someone hit the nail on the head when they said the old Supergo shops are the good ones. When "I" want a new bike, I go to the Path!

Yes, I suppose you have a bit of a point. One of my bikes is a Performance frame that sold for eighty bucks. It's shamefully plain, it is. You know what's funny, though? I can ride Frankenbike to the point of not WANTING to go any faster.

I just don't know whether I should be content because I can ride an eighty dollar bike reasonably well, or ashamed because I ride a heap.

Or... or... am I embarrassing myself by coming out of the Performance Closet? Will Viagra help my Performance inadequacies? I'm SOOOOOO conflicted! I wish I hadn't even replied, but I already hit the "submit reply" button and can't take it back.

    Sincerely,
    Anonymous

Tustin store is a joke. I don't think I've ever purcahsed anything there cuz they never have anything worth a $h!t.

LH is the complete opposite, the staff is always helpful and its a good place for misc small stuff on the cheap.

I was told that the Tustin store is one of the worst of the chain. They have a lot of internal problems and that they actually are not allowed to receive good inventory due to a lot of "loss". Personally I have received nothing but great service at the Oceanside location, but have not been to many of the other locations.

I like Performance for stuff like tubes, gu's, tools, shoes maybe some other minor stuff. They are good for quick great deals. I have been to the Perfromance in Tustin, I think Performance looks at that place like its a red headed step child. Notice how that shop is tucked in the back of declining shopping center?

I have almost nothing but good things to say about the Laguna Hills Performance. Jeff in service has always been helpful to me, and I've ridden with Harold in sales before.

I went into Performance in Tustin for a bottom bracket (I'd never replaced one before). I specifically asked for a PowerSpline Truvativ piece. After asking the mechanic he handed me a RaceFace ISIS drive. I said he had given me the wrong type but he assured me they are interchangeable, and even gave me a little bit of a "listen kid, who's the mechanic here?" attitude.

Long story short I ended up buying a whole new crankset with BB for only a few dollars more from The Path's takeoff wall.

At least they didn't give me any trouble returning the RaceFace part.

Performance price matched a Bike/Cardio Watch that I found at a online watch store for about $130.00 less than performance. ****Price match worked for me.

Been to the Tustin store twice, both times they did not have what I was looking for and were not helpful. Was at the LH store on Sunday looking to pick up some pickle juice for the upcoming Rwanda ride and the guy behind the counter talked to me like I was crazy for inquiring about it.

Why do people even bother writting more about performance, when they already know what to spect?
    Just quit it,
It is already know that they dont carry any high end stuff, and that they will price match.
The bikes they now have are low end,
    and
for better parts and bikes, there are other shops.
You will find good and bad customer service every where you go.

After 3 years of shopping at Performance, I've weaned myself off of that place at least for the time being. Killed the membership renewal and the seemingly endless emails of their sales. It was great while it lasted (some great deals) and I'll shop there again for supplies. I'll pass on the Forte and some of their other house brand items though. Customer service was always great.

the tustin store is a joke. they act like a bunch of smart asses whenever i go there.

i personally like the fountain valley store a lot. they actually gave me a free caliper tool when i asked them about brake bleeding.
