Make sure you're well hydrated and be ready to ride harder than you ever have for about an hour. And, have fun with it....

PS - Make sure your bike is in top running order, tires, gears, chairing, chain, F/R Derailleurs, properly, etc.

Start at the back and wait for everyone to get a good quarter mile ahead of you. Then hit the pedaling hard. No one will be in your way, or mowing you down, and you can enjoy the ride. No need for a bell.

You are just going to be bummed that there are only 2 races left. You will have so much fun, you will wish you would have signed up and done all the races.

OTH ending next week = bummer

This week will be the last race for OTH this season and I'll miss it! I was just looking over the standings for all categories and there are a couple close races. Take a look at the single speed class, the top two are separated by only 1 point going into the final race - Wow!

Also, there are a few riders that should have moved up this year. The winner and eventual winner of the women's groups are basically running the table with almost perfect results of first place. This is true for Women's Sport and Women's Beginner. Not cool ladies. The winner of Super Sport also has nearly all 1st place results. How fun is it to come out and take first (nearly) every time? Challenge yourself and get up to the proper class folks. If you look at the riders behind you, they are going to finish second and they battled and have a various range of finish places.

Anyway, this isn't meant to be a bashing post. I'll be somewhere around 10th in my class so I'm not affected by these riders. I just think It will be a lot more exciting to watch the single speed winner presentation that it will for the Women Sport, Women Beginner, and Super Sport categories.

Agreed! Also, many thanks to all the volunteers that have sacrificed their time to come out and help make this series such a success! I'm looking forward to tomorrow night, and the awards afterwards. I'm sure I'll go through some OTH withdrawals these next few Tues nights.

I understand that unless you sit in on all the conversations, and classification decisions, requests for racers to move up it seems like there are classes that need some cleaning up. Let me say this, " we have been involved in each of the above 3 classes mentioned above, and each winner is classed appropriately, given factors of 1) distance, 2) lack
(presence) of race experience, 3) the field they are competing against.

Keep in mind we have a more complicated comparison system today than we did last year. We shortened the Women's races to 3 laps mid season, it would have been unfair to move the leader at that point, she was racing the right class, the Super Sport is brand new, and has been close every week, etc.

Kudos to every racer who's battled it out in every class. Not saying we're not up against a tough challenge to play out the races fairly, from all 17 classes, but I will say I am of the opinion it's been contested fairly given a 30,000 foot view.

See you out at the awards as we honor every racer, whether they get a trophy or not.

    -Matt

First timers (and those still on the fence)....

-It's the last race of the season
    -Unique venue
-If you don't race tomorrow, you will have to wait until... May 2012!!!
-Simple way to meet a ton of STR members
    -You might like it!
-This is the week "WE" officially honor those who have raced (could be you we are cheering for)
-Someone may introduce you to a new friend OR ride buddy that lives 5 minutes from you!
-Healthier for you than sitting on the couch

    C'mon...

Where do the STR peeps usually stay (on the sidelines I mean) while cheering the racers or taking pics? If our sked permits, my wife & I would love to join you guys later to cheer on the racers!
