Orange County rehab riding.

Hello all. I used to mtb 5-6 times a week. About 2 and a half years ago I endured a pretty serious back injury and have been on my bike maybe 3 times since the injury. My back is finally better but unfortunately I'm am now beyond out of shape and gained a good bit of weight. I am wanting to ride again but am needing to take things slow. I'm looking for someone to ride with a few times a week in the mornings or early afternoons. Trails I'm open to excuse of proximity to where I live are Peters canyon, Irvine and possibly Fullerton loop. Once I'm in better shape im open all trails. Let me know if you're interested in riding and possibly in a similar situation of getting back into riding shape. Thanks and I loo forward to hearing from you.

 

Hi Bubba, devastating injuries are a real demon to overcome and rise above, congratulations, you've done both mentally and physically!
Now it's time to thrust a dagger through the heart of it's past discouragement it inflicted on you.
Unfortunately, I'm not available to be on a bike early morns or early afternoons, but dang, a couple more years....retired Lord willing.
Don't discount the lower trails of Santiago Oaks as well til you work your conditioning further.
Irvine stays open late with Christmas season, I could do a evening ride with ya 4:30 ish to 6:00 with lights, they light the park up with holiday lights.
Anyways, just want to encourage you to go forward in your zeal for a much shared passion.....MOUNTAIN BIKING.

The trails in Irvine Park close at sunset, just like the Oaks. The park itself is open til 6:00.

 

I'm sure you mean well stravaholic, but I'm pretty sure we're not all trespassing during the holiday season when we drive through the open gate to partake of the seasonal festivities.
