Personally I would complete the XX1 group. You can go to a bigger front ring and still maintain your climbing gear. I am currently running a 38T up front and don't have issues getting up anything and rarely use the 42T in the rear. You do not necessarily need to buy the XX1 cranks since e13 and a host of others are coming out with copies of the XX1 rings for Shimano cranks.

I am making the transition to XX1 and am currently running XX1 cranks and 11-38 1x9. If Mr. King would get off his high horse and come out with a compatable hub body I would go all the way. For now I am pretty happy with this setup, but think I am going to install the XX1 shifters and rear derailuer with a 10 speed cassette and run 11-41 frankencog.

Also re-routed the LEV cable which really cleans up the Mojo HD...take a look...

Nice job using the derailleur mount to route the dropper cable!

Nice bike. I just ordered a frame last weekend. What length is your fork?

Be careful, the XX1 RD is not compatible with 10 spd as far as I know. You can do what I did and scour eBay for a cheap DT Swiss rear wheel and run that until King comes out with their XD freehub. I got a brand new 819/350 for $100 shipped to my door.

Great idea on routing the dropper!

Even though the question was not directed at me, I am running a Lyrik RC2DH 170 on my HD and think it is a perfect fit. HA is around 66.5. Was running a Float 36 previously which I would recommend you stay away from. Performance between that and the high end RS damper is not even close.

Fork is X-Fusion Vengeance HLR DLA. It's 170mm at full travel and 140 with the flip of the DLA (Down Low Adjust) switch. It's an awesome fork!!!

I ordered the HD140. I think the 170 will be too long. I need something beefy like the lyric but with a little less travel.

Lyrik or Vengance spaced down to 150. Could also go Pike 150.
