Non-PG avatars and other questionable pics.

Ok, I'm not the one to rattle the cage here but...

Without naming names, WHATS WITH THE EXPLICIT AVATARS AND (from time to time) QUESTIONABLE PICS?

I browse and post on this site from work and I run into someone who thinks its funny to post semi-clad women, or other images that can be viewed as 'offensive' is on the site.

I am not a prude by all means, I can even tell you where to get some great free internet porn but that does not belong in this site. Not to mention I show this site to my wife and sometimes my kids if theres something that they may find amusing or something to learn from.

I came to this site to learn/read/talk about biking. If I wanted porn, I will look for it at my leisure...

edit: chicks in bikini's stay posted in various threads, yet other stuff gets requested to go. I don't get it.

Always something to complain about, If you dislike the avatars subscribe to the RSS feed and you wont be bothered by them.

 

While that may be well and good to have the 'Report to Moderator' button, some things need to be called out upon in the open.

How would you feel if you got suspended or canned from work (the zero tolerance excuse) because of someone thought it would be HI-LARIOUS to post some T and A pics??

Isnt there minors on this site? Isnt so-and-so still under 18? What about so-and-so's daughter? How would you feel if someone was showing questionable material to your minor child?

I wasn't directly asking you mtnbikerfred, its more of a general 'you' for everyone...

 

definitely we do not have enough regualtions in every aspect of our life. The site is open to the public and someone, anyone can post anything at any time, if you think you are somewhere or with someone that cant handle the random things popping up on the internet (on the boards or anything else) then dont go on it. Simple problem solved

as for how I would feel if you got canned for T and A pics at work, i wouldn't feel bad at all, I dont pull str up in front of kids at my work, actually I work at my work

The thing is ... what is questionable?
While both my kids know how to shoot and what weapons are, I would much prefer they look at a naked body rather then down the barrel of a gun, be it fake, airsoft or .300WSM

 

how do you know when you have a problem? is 10% of the work day on STR too much? how about 25%

 

Thank you DavidB for showing people how to block "offensive" avatars. It's like the whole V-chip thing, are people just getting too lazy to figure out how to work technology to their advantage? If you don't want your children seeing things that you consider offensive, DON'T SHOW IT TO THEM. THAT SIMPLE! DON'T RUIN IT FOR EVERYONE ELSE. If you DO want to show your children something on this site, copy and paste the information onto word, that way no avatars are shown. Or, TELL them about it. ugh, people.
