My son Ryan took 1st place in his Fontana debut today!

    The top 3 times seem surprisingly close to me. Eternal rivals!

    I wonder if riding without gloves is what gave him the edge

    To your comment Chris (Herz) about the pedaling, yes I was glad to see he was on the gas as well.. I wasn't sure how hard he would push in terms of pedaling. I told him I wanted him to have fun and push it hard all the way down as long as he felt comfortable. Told him I didn't want to see him get hurt his first time out by pushing too hard and losing it. I also know he's not a big pedal guy, and can get lazy on the pedal, so I reminded him it is a race and if he doesn't pedal hard, it could be the difference and that there wouldn't be a huge gap between first place and last place.. a few extra pedal strokes in a few sections may have been just enough to take it..
