    When I did Breathless Agony, I missed a check in at a rest stop, penalized 10 minutes.#-o

    I'm not sure if it was hydration, I drank more during the ride to keep from dehydrating.

    The problem with dehydration is that you need to already be hydrated before the race because if it hits it's too late. You need to have days of hydration before and need to be popping electrolytes every few hours.

    Not true...Hammer Nutrition's Website is among others (Accelerade, Powerade, Cliff, are some that have similar recommendations) that lists similar ways to properly hydrate for longer duration events like this...

    I've found their knowledge base to be reliable and in testing out how much my body needs for protein-carb-fat-fluid over various distances/climate conditions...its been spot on.

    I went into races not hydrated well and would try to hydrate during the race...and it's too late.
    that's my point.
