    Hey guys,

I just started mountain biking about a month now and Try to ride every weekend/day I can. Just thought I'd introduce myself.

My first understanding is that riding up hill is 5X harder than it looks from my last two experiences.](*,)

I currently ride a Diamondback Response Sport, but saving up for a Yeti 575 by the end of this month hopefully. :bang:

and I shall leave on a note that this must be the 10k post of a newb saying the same exact thing as just about everyone else. LOL

Yes, I saw the sale thread. I looking to just buy a complete bike though so its ultimately cheaper overall. or so I think. Fullcycles has demo bikes for a good price so that may be my destinantion of purchase.

lbmtb has lowered his price on the frame and it includes the headset and front der.. im sure you can get a great build kit from the bubbs at adrenaline or the path if you wish to go that route.

Thanks for all the welcome guys! A lot more warmth than Mtbr.com thats for sure.

My main concern with the bike is its age, as I'm sure lbmtb has put it through the work himself. I wanna make sure I start as close to fresh as I can. Although its a super deal! The guys at Adrenaline are good people to deal with and friendly from my visit to check out the 575
well I'v been to El Moro and somewhere near blackstar.
It' funny because I could swear both of the trails I'v been to I always started at the wrong place or something. Because there were not mountain bikers in sight at all while at blackstar (or somewhere in the area) A bunch of moto/quad riders were flying past me.
It was actually 26'er zen master that told me about this site. So Hopefully I stop ending up at the wrong places.

El moro (whichever portion I was on) was really fun, although the Hike was a little extreme for me, Must be out of shape. Heading back was awsome. A little side note though: going back down from the Blackstar? hike I got hit by a truck going uphill.

    Welcome to the forum.

Whilst I've not yet ridden with anyone on here yet, they all seem like a great bunch of people.

How do you get hit by a truck in Blackstar? You must of been riding Maple Springs (saddleback) Thats the only place that I can think of in the area that allows trucks. Either Maple Springs or Holy Jims.

    Where are you located?

its somewhere around Blackstar. Im terrible with navigation and always seem to end up in the wrong place not too far from the right one. LOL
I was fine, just a small crash. I actually kept going right after and never said anything to the driver.

This also calls for a new helmet. A skateboard helmet is nothing more than a shell around a beanie. super oven!
What do you guys think about the Giro Havoc?

    I am located in cerritos.
Nope, Black TRD Tundra. I did pass by a lot of trucks and jeeps though so maybe?

    thanks!

what helmets do you guys wear? I've been using a pro-tec skate helmet and it over heats me within 15 minutes of riding. The Giro Havoc seems very nice.
