OK, I'm trying to decide whether to bring the 6" travel Reign with 2.5" tires or the old school steel GT hardtail with 2.1" Panaracers.

Is there anything on the "B" or "C" rides that would make it worth huffing the Reign up the climbs?

Just to give you an idea, I prefer riding the GT on the Fully Loop. It easier on the climb, easier to flick around and there's nothing that really takes advantage of that much rear travel.

I can't really find any good clear descriptions of the terrain on these routes. I get the idea there is mostly fire road riding or fairly smooth singletrack.

    TIA,
    Jeff

I know that the only time I have been there we did a fire road grind that would have been hell on a single speed. It could be done, but I was in granny the whole time.

The 6" might be a little overkill for Marshall, although I'm riding my 5.5.(It's the only bike I have.)Your hardtail will be ok.- Lloyd

You guys have a good time and be nice to everybody. It's gonna be like a Hell's Angels ride but without all the loud exhaust pipes... unless you guys bring baseball cards.

Oak Mesa Park/School on Wheeler. If the parking lot is full there's another school on Baseline at the corner of Wheeler and Joe Truth will be there around 8 am or so. You can just ride up the wash from there to the school.

You would need to record that, the sound of everyone rolling out would be awesome.

So B Ride on SS would be OK if I am OK with Blackstar to Beeks or Whiting Ranch - The Luge on the SS?

T.Phillip's has been warned of the invasion tomorrow! There is also a car show going on in downtown La Verne, so you will need to park a few blocks away from the restaraunt, come prepared to lock up bikes properly. Don't let the car show keep you from coming though! It's a cool show, one of STR's members will be participating, let's see if they care to chime in.:?: Look forward to meeting everyone, well probably not everyone, but a lot of you!

Steve Kennedy finally called and confirmed that they don't have any games scheduled on Saturday. He did mentioned that there may be (as Joe mentioned) a few people going there for T-Ball or Baseball practice, however he mentioned that they don't usually do this until later in the afternoon.

Just a thought on the parking. This is Easter weekend and I know that my nieces don't have sports this weekend due to the holiday.

105! This is the biggest ride to date. Hope everyone brings plenty of water, cause it could get hot out there. If you don't need it, someone else might. See you all in the AM.

The best thing about this ride...Is you can't get lost, just point the bike downhill and stay on the singletrack and you'll get back.
