Anyone ever do the lessons at Mammoth? I need to work on my skills and was just wondering if anyone has done this - any suggestions/recommendations?

    Thanks,

Never done it but I've seen some of the instructors on the trails before with people. The instructors I've seen seem to ride good so I'm sure they can help although being Mammoth I'm sure it will be pricey.

In the end the more you ride the better you'll get, also riding with others that are better than you helps as well. Lastly there there are books and vids that can help too. My brother in-law got the below book and really liked it, Fabien's videos have been pretty good lately as well, links below.

I suggest Brian Enciso (who posts/used to post on this site as Grenader26.) He is an instructor on the mountain. He is not only a phenomenal rider, but is also a very effective teacher.

Thanks guys! Yea I am an instructor at mammoth and am always happy to help people home their skills. It's $90 for a two hour session through the mountain.

90 for two hours is not too high of a price. I did the lessons at Whistler once and I learned a great deal. The instructors know a lot of things that I didn't learn just riding over time. Things like feather and pump your breaks instead of pressing them to keep your speed high and keep you in control, look ahead when going into a turn and break the turn up into three sections, and so much more. I would recommend the lesson
