Is that peace from the form of a threat with a litigious action, such as suing for slander? #-o

let it go. everyone is entitled to their own opinion, calling someone out and practically trying to force them to come to your store after bad experiences with the other stores in the JAX chain isn't going to help matters...it is his choice whether he wants to support JAX or not...

these JAX threads seem to get plenty of attention...much of it being negative. maybe call a mandatory store employee meeting and go over these reviews of each store so they know what mt. bike ENTHUSIASTS have to say...

no one asked you to kill your account, no one doubted your love for bikes....if you want to leave STR, that is your choice...the reviews will still keep on being posted.

take these reviews for what they are worth and make any necessary changes you feel are worthwhile at your shop(s) and maybe positive reviews will start appearing on these boards...

remember, reviews are peoples opinions, and they will sometimes be hurtfull, or over exagerated. i still shop at all shops, save 3 which i wont mention here, when im in the area. one bad experience is no reason to hate, but a reason to give the benifet of the doubt and give it another shot.

if there is a bad experience, let it be known calmly at the next visit, and usualy shops will make it up to you.

I'm disappointed that brownlandshark's posts were deleted, whether by himself or by a moderator.

Actually, I think it is CRAP because the posts painted a pretty accurate picture of the Jax experience from an employee perspective.

Can they be put back up or are they gone?
Well anyway. For what it's worth All complaints and concerns I have read about here have beed addressed with staff and changes happen daily to improve all aspects of our business. Bear in mind this is Jax Irvine. Many have posted here in reference to our other stores.
Some comments used the term tools, jerks and other names which are tough to read through and not say something. Lots of replies on this forum but we do have thousands of happy clients and friends who share their love for bicycles with us every day.
I have noticed that even on non Jax Irvine related posts that Jax comes up and is just shamelessley bashed for whatever reason is felt neccessary. That is when it gets hard as it seems that type of post is just to "get" somebody. Some are funny, some are true, some are complete fabrications. It is largely the fabrications That upset me. And I do feel a need to give a employee take on a specific situation sometimes.
I still hope for a "secret shopper" from the site and some members to pop in even if just to say Hi and check the place out. Not trolling for business here. You guys are fun and I like this site. Carry on.

    I can't believe I did it...

But I went into Jax Irvine again. I was there about 18 seconds. My son wanted a full face helmet. I walked in the door, and was greeted by a helpful Jax associate. "Can I help you". "Yeah, I'm looking for a full face helmet".

"Sorry, we don't have any, you probably want to try Mission Motorsports down south".

Are you f'in kidding me!?! Do you really think I would come to a bike shop if I wanted a motorcycle helmet?!? This kind of attitude to simply get the customer out of the store as quickly as possible never ceases to amaze me. Maybe he doesn't even know that there are full face bicycle helmets?!?

Why wouldn't his response be something like, "I don't believe we have any of those in stock, but if you like, I can look in the catalogue and we can order something for you".

I almost suggested to him that no, I am not interested in a heavy overbuilt motorcycle helmet for my son to use for mountain biking, but I figured it would be wasted breath. I simply walked out.

My son said, "Why don't they have any full-face helmets Dad". My response "Because they're lame".

I also had a bad experience with Jax as well. I spent like 10 minutes in the store with a buddy of mine and not a single sales guy asked if we needed any help. I saw them outside talking among themselves and it bugged me even though I was just looking around.

Use to work with Pat at Huntington Beach before he went to Irvine as the GM. He's good people, I don't care much for the ownership of Jax's but everything with small chain stores comes down to politics. :?:

It's a business, like any other.

Jax has some of the best and most knowledgeable employees of any shop out there. Most are passionate cyclists and compete and get just as fired up as any other rider. I had the privilege of getting to know everyone in that family better and cherish the memory. While it’s true the store doesn’t cater to any specific niche, it is quite capable of meeting the needs of the average cyclist. Each store has autonomy and can cater to the needs and wants of its clients; however most folks will just show up for a tube once in a blue moon and wonder why they don’t stock the latest juicy product. No one is perfect but that does not make them bad, their number one priority is and always has been service above and beyond the regular (IE performance) expectations and one on one personal attention. I still shop there but also frequent other local establishments depending on my needs. I am glad to say the new Mission Viejo shop will retain some of the key people who have made this chain as good as it is.

Well this is about Jax in Huntington Beach. I just picked up my new Haro Mary SS from there. I didn't even realize they could get these bikes there. I told him I was looking for a SS mountain bike. He showed me the Fisher Rig, you know the kind of ugly brown color. That thing was pretty pricey so then he told me about the Haro Mary Rigid. I jumped right on that, two days later I pick it up and out riding the trails. Amazing bike too, much smoother than I expected. I'm still a little iffy on the EBB but we'll see. Anyway great guy down there, I'm sure he gets sick of selling all those beach cruisers to all those beautiful girls. By the way they had cruisers there for over $700. They were nice but come on who buys those.:?:
