Okay cyclists let's hear your pix for the 100th year of the Tour de France.
We've had Big George retire and now Levi along with a few others that might have been considered so it's kind of up in the air who will even be there.
I don't seriously think Wiggins can do it again. Hell, I think Chris Froome (his Sky team mate) was even faster and stronger then he was last year.
Will it be Alberto? Andy Schleck won't be in it, nor Frank so who's it going to be?
    Could Peter be a surprise?
How about Cadel, does he have the team it takes to win?
How about the best American in the running, the Tour of Cal winner Teejay?

Well, my pick is going to be Froome and I know Wiggins is not happy with his team mate.
I'll take Teejay for second and Alberto for third.
Vinny is the darkhorse and I believe this is his last hoorah.

I just hope it is not as boring as last year. Wiggins made it a total bore.

I have nothing to base this on.... but I think it going to be more exciting, more sprint competition with Cavendish on his own team, and Sagan should single handledly make it interesting and I think some up and comers are going to have a good day....and I WANT TO SEE JENS WIN A STAGE!

Cadel Evans or Teejay. Depends on which feels strong early. They've got a great team and they are both riding real well.

Andy Schleck and Alberto Cantador just haven't been the same without the sauce. Andy looked good at times in the TOC, but then the TOC is like a training vacation for some... it's hard to really get a bead on any rider's fitness at TOC because you don't really know how hard they're trying. Andy did get aggressive at times, who knows, he may be a player this year.
It's not TeJay Van Garderen's time yet... perhaps someday, but not 2013.
Speaking of BMC, yes... Cadel Evans does have the team and he will have a go.
Peter Sagan - Awesome, but not a GC guy.
Wiggins will be in the mix, but should take a backseat to Froome. The team may play both hands initially and see who has the legs this year. If Froome faulters, I'm sure Wiggins will be at the ready.
Nibali is getting it done in the Giro, but not sure if he can maintain his hot-streak through the TdF.
Ryder Hesjedal will probably be up there as well... but can he TT well enough?
I'm going with Froome for the win.

I didn't put Nibali in the mix because I think he's focusing his year on the Giro. Teejay is a long shot but no one picked him to win Cal either. One I forgot was Ryder but his TT isn't what it needs to be and he always has bad luck at the Tour.

Wiggins is the one who has been promising to support Froome for TdF 2013. He's said it far too many times to back-out now, or he'll look like a arse.

Or, and wait for it......... I'm going with Cadel due to some freak event that takes out Froome and TeJay. I hope the young bucks have a go and make it amazing to watch.

I'm just sad I am not going to be there to watch the finish. I had planned to watch the final stage in Paris then take a week to get to Italy and watch the World Cup race but it just wasn't going to work.

Not sure yet about TdF picks, but i have to say I just discovered another cool thing in cycling: watching the Giro on RAI in Italian! (online thru steephill.tv). There is nothing more passionate that listening to the Italian announcers cover play by play, and especially when there is attacking action. Don't understand 95% of what they say, but there is something totally cool about how they carry it. oh boy do the italians love their cycling! Haven't enjoyed a grand tour like this for a while. Plus its full stage coverge live in HD, with full stage replays in HD. All online so i can watch it from my ipad from wherever. (Thank you universal sports for not carrying it english and bein network for not being carried by uverse and having a pisspoor website).

Last year the Vuelta was the most exciting grand tour. This year the Giro is shaping up to be really good.

Funny how the italian announcers always call Vincenzo Nibali by his first and last name all the time. Never just Vincenzo, or just Nibali. Always in a rolling single rolling word .... vincenzonibali blah blah blah blah blah vincenzonibali.....

    Keep it going guys!

As much as I'd like to see Teejay on the podium, I think he's still a few years out. BMC is going to fully support Cadel, but Teejays time is coming. If Wiggo keeps his word and supports Froome, the Sky team (barring any major incidents) could repeat. No matter what, looking forward to July.

Yeah, unfortunately I'm old enough to remember the '85 and '86 Tours. The similarities are striking.

Great ! Now we might actually have an exciting Tour. Froome vs Contador vs Cadel vs ? ( Does Andy wake up.... Hmmm probably not, not without his brother there; TJ? Not with Cadel around unless Cadel falters early on and the do a mid tour switch of Captains). Ryder? Hmmmm. He can win grand tours, but doesn't have a strong of a team behind him as Froome has. Then there is Rodriguez. He might pull something suprising.

My money is on either Contador or Froome. Hopefully Contador will animate us becuase if Froome and Sky ride the same style they did last year it wil be another sleeper.

Might be an exciting Tour this year. It's doubtful one rider will dominate everyone else and Froome and Contador will unleash their attacks in the mountains; it will be interesting to see who keeps up with them and who can challenge in the time trials. Could be a great year for Cadel and seems like Tejay and Ryder could be blacksheep, especially Tejay but Cadel seems like he'll be prime so Tejay probably won't be free to fly.

We'll be at the TdF for several stages - including Mt Ventoux. Looking forwards to riding and watching the action. Froome v. Contador v. Van Garderen etc should be fun to watch. Not to mention Cav v. Sagan for green. We were there 2 years ago at the 98th TdF and had a blast. This year's 100th anniversary race should be even better. Can't wait!
