Ive only been to Incycle Chino and found a Canondale Jekyll for 2100. It appears to be a great bike. Im resurrecting from my recovery of a broken leg while riding DH, now im changing my ride style a bit and looking for a bike in the 2k price range and from a shop that offers finance.

    Anyone have advice?

I know both Jax and The Path use outside companies to finance bikes at zero percent for either six months or a year depending on how much you spend. At 2K I am pretty sure it is a year. I would imagine Fullerton Bikes has a similar program. The Red Shield protection at Jax on Trek bikes is worth looking into but The Path and Fullerton bikes have so many options when it comes to different bikes.

Uh... A shop I *know* has a financing available (GE Money), and the new Giant Trance 27.5 comes in for about $2K in an SLX build...

Im in the market for a Nomad, Trance, Jekyll, Trek EX, Ghost Lecter, Vitus Dominer II.

Im hoping to find a shop that offers the best selection with bikes under 2100. Ive always built my bikes with ISO Drake but im changing gears and looking for finance with warranty in addition to my selection. Ive been through 6 bikes in 8 years of riding none had a warranty thats the only reason im buying new. I appreciate the responses thus far and this thread may help someone in the future.

I'm pretty sure there's a Nomad on the floor at FB too. BTW, Giant has THE BEST warranty (lifetime) on frame and customer service.

    Mike,
Sorry to hear about that leg!
Good luck on the new bike.
Bicycle Warehouse carries Santa Cruz and does financing if you are still living down this way.

The new Trance 3 27.5 is a Deore build for $2,125 which is the cheapest one you can get. I posted the specs on a different thread. But here it is again. BTW Giant is real good with there financing and warranty as mentioned above.

Two Wheels one Planet in Costa Mesa has the new 27.5 Trance and financing available, and they are tax free for the rest of the month.

Read the warranties carefully. No one gives a real warranty.

Check out Helen's Cycles. There in Arcadia and Santa Monica. They carry Trek and Santa Cruz and have financing through Trek. You can use the trek card for anything in the store, and other stores that accept it.

+1 Fullerton Bike. Great store with excellent customer service. I drive all the way from San Juan Capistrano to shop there.

If you're concerned about warranty, it's really hard to beat the RedShield warranty they offer at Jax. Every bike company warranties the frame, thats nothing new, but getting your entire bike (pretty much excepting the tire rubber and brake pads) covered is amazing. You feel it when you get an entire cogset and chain replaced due to normal wear, for free. Bang up and dent your rim? Here's a new one. It's the little things that add up.

I have a new bike that's the first one outside the Redshield coverage in a long time and now I'm paranoid as all hell about breaking a $400 part, whereas before I zero concern.

Hopefully you don't have an XX1 rear cassette then... ;)

I didn't realize the Trek Redshield covers all that; that is amazing. I'll definitely consider them next time around.

RedShield got me an entire drivetrain at no cost. The way it works is simple, u get replacement parts upto the price u paid for ur bike. The frame of course has a lifetime warranty.

Thanks for the input STR, I bought a Trek EX 5 from Empire Bikes in Chino Hills for 1500. I already look forward to upgrading it by installing a single ring race face, taking the damn reflectors off, upgrading the suspension on front and rear. The bike fits perfect and is the platform I want to use on this dirt we all love to breathe .

With the replacement of fork and shock are the wheels any good for intended purpose? Swapping to another bike perhaps?

I wish u the best, pray u heal whole and are happy with the end result on your bike.
Oh, congratulations on purchasing a NEW bike. :)

You bought a bike and already want to upgrade front and rear suspension? Maybe you got the wrong bike
