Disco lighten up...the man is only trying to make a living in a depressed economy. You can only get fleeced if you let someone do it to you. It is always buyer beware, if you listen to the hype and buy at a inflated price it is on you...the info to educate oneself is out there. Personally I do not believe anyone should be allowed to buy a house without more than 20% down.

Disco, dude that was quite a rant there

Whats up with the venom your spewing?

To insinuate that members of str should stick to just discussing bike related on the forums is unrealistic since there are topics and life beyond MTB. Some of us users have interest in other things and want to discuss those things. In fact, I have seen you post about non MTB related topics all the time.

You said you refrain from polluting these forums from politics, religion and or worse business. Good for you. Have you thought that people might from time to time want to discuss other non-bike topics and exercise freedom of speech? Why censor? Last time I heard, we are in a free country. We are not in a country like China where people are controlled and limited as to what they can say.

I sometimes see a post or thread on a non-bike topic that I don't like: I just don't respond to it in a negative way or flame the person posting.

Yes the economy is tanking. A combination of factors have contributed to the crap where in. Outsourcing of jobs overseas, weak housing sector, a MAJOR trade deficit, and expensive wars have all contributed the state that we are in.

Bro, don't take life so seriously.

BTW Dean, what do you think about the DW Turners? I really like the DW 5 spot. I kinda want to wait for the DW RFX. There are some nice builds on the MTBR Turner forums that had me foming at the mouth.

Im looking at the DW RFX, Sultan and 5 spot. I just dont know which one I want more out of the 3

I already have my Trance X, so an rfx or sultan might fill a hole in my bike lineup

Do you really need to ask a Homer what they think about Turners. Dude I have been drinking the Coolaid to many years to have a unbiased opinion.

FRX are still in the design stage read this post for latest. Dave Turner explains his latest thinking on Slope Style and RFX changes.

Sultan is a excellent XC bike. The weight between the Spot and the RFX is so close I would just go with the RFX.

I agree we have some pretty rough areas in the 909 but it's what I call home. We also have some very nice and very low crime areas. Please don't defame the whole 909 because of some bad areas. I don't equate Mission Viejo with Santa Ana.

    Thread derailer!!

Don't try and avoid the issue, perhaps you should read the guidelines before posting up for sale.

The Market Place Review local bike shops, share coupons, or sell/buy your bike gear.

This is a house for $150K not a pair of used pedals so you could have at least posted in NBR if you had bothered to read the rules.

Second this is not craigs where you can sell anything (though I do test that rule frequently) and even they charge for a listing.

Third, when I sell parts it's usually to recycle them to a good home, not for profit, and not my primary business.

As said before, it's not you I am attacking it's the notion that any huckster can spam us to make a buck peddling their wares. A few have quietly slipped in here buying things at wholesale and trying to sell them through this outlet. That is not the intention of this marketplace That's what E-bay or craigs is for, this is where I come to trade tires or pedals or grips or whatever. But used cars, distressed properties :?:(sorry to offend those in the 909, but this dude does not live there either) I object because you are not a disinterested third party nor a home owner who is in need of help. You are a licensed Sales agent and held to a higher standard than the general public, your license could be revoked for failing to disclose all the details and particulars of a transaction particularly when it comes to commissions. None of that matters to me though as this is black and white you are an agent trying to sell a house and not the individual. Just like a used car lot advertising is an expense and fact of doing business, I would not mind you having a link in your sig but dont want this site cluttered with bank repos, used cars, and other crap people should take to the swap meet at the fairgrounds.

By listing the property you have shown your professional interest and cannot say that it's just to help out a friend. We are all trying to make some money these days but there are far more professional ways to do it.

I will go back to one of my earlier statements and say that I do not think anyone should be able to sell anything without a yearly donation to the STR. Get a do-hicky bubs.

I think this was a great thread and on-topic because There are a lot of mountain bikers that are so into their downhilling they would be interested in living close to south ridge. For me it's a bit far from work.

I'll NEVER put my phone # or business on my car!!

    Thanks Tortoise,

And though I lost a few bucks on that bike, it warms my heart to know it's getting ridden. That is value, something profit can never add. Though I rarely open up I think now is a good time to say that I too am licensed by the DRE, and before sitting for the sales exam had completed all courses for Broker and Appraisal licenses in full semester college courses en route to earning an A.A. in Real Estate. I still consult on Commercial and investment properties and have helped clients pool their funds and create R.E.I.T.'s so that each income property is a separate corporate entity with no personal liability. I still contribute to BPO's, do signings and actively stay in contact with a book of business but have not been advertising for the last two years.

Further I would not dream of boring the community here with my professional life, I come here to unwind and sometimes to spew fire and brimstone;). I know a lot about bikes and have fun riding them, even more when it's not solo. Like I said it's not personal, but I choose to leave business in the office so I can relax on the trail.

I know this is a mountain bike sight. I just feel more comfortable discussing non MTB topics with fellow MTBers.

I personally dont think the economy's that bad. The media's giving it the ol' monkey see-monkey do scaring everyone which leads to less spending. And also the big corporations are scared and laying off just so they can have a cushion of $ in the reserve because everyone else is. The old monkey-see monkey-do syndrome.

In the MTB World: Wonder why all forks turned WHITE?

The thing that screwed up part of the economy was stupid greedy realtors and people putting zero % down on homes or less than 20%. People buying something they couldn't afford. Imagine that. Rant over.
