The new dawg looks nice... but whats a dawg/dawg deluce/dawg supreme cost? looks like a nice AM rig.

basic proven 4 bar linkage with fox rp2/rp23

I think they are something like 2K, 2.5K, 3K, but I'm just guessing. You can get screaming deals on the 5" ones from 2007 at Wheelworld and the Path has an STR discount and some 2008 ones. They also have a demo size L that I am planning on riding one of these weekends.

For me I just don't like the slcak headangles that some of the bigger travel bikes have. The Heckler is 69 degrees and I think the Dawg is too.

for a bike that your planning on using for some "fun" The slacker headangles saves you from going OTB every once in awhile

If I was in the market I would also be looking at these ...

Scott Ransom (already have one) - Set up correctly and it should work fine depending on how big you go.

Foes Fly - Been around a while and get the job done

Cannondale Moto - Have not had much time on one but it seems it would do the job nicely if you could bring your self to huck a carbon frame.

Scott Nitrous - more of a light freeride bike but I have heard it is not to bad if you have to spend some time in the saddle

yes, I find a slacker HA increases what I like to call "plowability", or the ability for the bike to just plow over obstacles. pretty awesome attribute to maximize if you ask me 8-[

Is this where I plug the XCL as custom tailored for your needs?

Throw a leg over one and see what you think.

If you like Gray there may be an upcoming purge of color that are no longer stocked:?:.....

Besides demo's are still free and feedback is priceless.

Heres my list for right now

Gonna ride DenMo's morewood on friday. Single pivot ??
can get a smokin deal on an XCL
Don't really want a 5-spot since there changing suspension design, why have the old design, resell will suck
I have that ventana stuck in my head but its going to be about 600 too much (id rather spend it on a good fork.)
No 17" MKIII's to be found except on rscycle, but thats a whole bike, I guess I could do that and sell off the rest fo my parts
have an offer on a stumpjumper but I think that would be a little to XC ish for me.

Could just drop the canzo frame and go back to a Soma Juice and quit whining, but I really want to go back to a 26" AM bike
