:wave:I guess I should say hi - since I already posted a beginner ride on here. I really like your group had the chance of riding with (Mike) Steve today. He joined my group. It really was alot of fun.

Been posting my own beginner rides for couple months on ODC. I mainly ride with my 12 year old daughter and she really is an awesome rider.

We love to ride and I am working hard on the uphill and conditioning.

If I can mountain bike anyone can and I think everyone should be welcomed on rides. No one should be left behind. We all have bad days out on the trail.

Why post my own rides? Julia 12 and I have been left behind on the trails. We are tough girls - no matter who you are...it don't feel so good. Not cool on beginner rides.

Hope to ride with you all soon.

:welcome:Don't worry about your riding. You'll get better the more you ride. You are only a beginner once.

    Thanks Carbonman!

    I've been a beginner for a year.

My daughter has been riding 2 - 4 months and she's pretty good - of course she's only 12 years old.

We have fun and it's all good.

I am looking forward to joining you on your beginner rides. It would be nice to go to someone's rides besides my own.

I ride Aliso Viejo, Peters Canyon, Whiting (Once so far), Ridge (my favorite place). Rode Los Pinos can't wait to go back.

Hope to ride with you all soon.

if you are up to it, i ride wednesday ride at AV...you're more than welcome to join. i've been off the bike for 3 years and making improvements so definitely dont feel intimidated to ride. My best so far is 3 stops up cholla! and i cleared that brutal short but steep to top of mathias on the ridgeline yesterday without stopping.

I was just in conversation about that very thing yesterday. A kids ride would be great. I was think about having it at O'Neill park. Tijeras Creek Loop. I'll be posting it soon.

    Foofighter,

I know that long A$$ steep hill. Congratutlation to you! Me not there yet. I am taking it one hill at a time. Finally mastered the big hill at Peters Canyon. Cholla is next. I usually hike up Cholla w/bike. I did start riding it the last time.

My little girl rides up and waits for me. She also rides down Mathis and Rock-It, she don't care.

Anyway my daughter is always asking for other kids to ride with. I am too sloooow for her. A kid ride would be EXCELLENT.

I have a beginner ride on Tuesday's at Peters Canyon 6:30 p.m. We meet at the Peter Canyon Street entrance/not front entrance.

I can't make it to Aliso Woods this wednesday but I'll plan on being there with Julia next week. 29Wheels my daughter will enjoy riding with your kids.

    Thanks,

next week it is...we'll be looking for you. and your daughter would be great with one of our rider's son. he got him a bike and unfortunately had to cut his ride short cuz his dad's rear derail hanger broke yesterday...but i think it would be a cool ride.

No worries...stopping is ALL good...you're taking in the view! cant be outdoors and not enjoy the view right? in due time i promise you'll be hoofing it up cholla like nobody's business.

E, from Trail Angels? Welcome to STR!! (Rachel here)7816 Essex #102.
Happy to see you on the site, the rides are great here, and so are the riders.

When they say no one left behind, they mean it! If there isn't a sweep with you, there are several group points and they wait for the last rider up before advancing.

Unfortunately, my daughter is more of a princess, although I think she rides better with other kids (rather than me). She's just a bit shy with people and downhills :) Of course, she's trying more and more every day. A kids ride would be great!!

    Rachel Hello,

It must be a good group if your part of it. It's sounds like a great group of people. I can't wait to ride with everyone.

My little girl is my little "Tom Boy" yet a girl - girl.

She's an aggressive rider and needs to ride with others besides myself. I am trying to keep her grounded. Don't want her to become unaware of her surrondings and others.

My older daughter Stef (14) she rode a couple times. Mountain biking wasn't for her. We do other stuff together.

Can't wait to get the girls together so they can ride.

genusmtbker5 - Kids ride excellent idea.

    -Elvia
