Hello Everyone! Just a friendly hello and introduction here. I've really been digging this site and community so far. Seems like a great group of mountain bikers. I live in Foothill Ranch so I frequent Whiting Ranch quite a bit especially in the mornings before work. Some of my other favorites include STT and the luge, Aliso Woods and El Moro Canyon. I rode Oaks for the first time and fell in love with it. I'm one of those guys that actually enjoys climbing just as much, if not more, than descending. I did Harding to 4 Corners recently and would love to meet some folks on here to explore the rest of the Santa Ana's with. It would make my wife feel much better if I did not go alone On my to do list is Blackstar, Maple Springs, Holy Jim to Santiago Peak, and the San Juan Trail. I used to road ride but got into mountain biking at the end of last year. I got myself a 2013 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp and have been hooked ever since. I look forward to making some great friends here and hopefully riding with some of you in the near future! -Parallax
Welcome! Yes, always better to have someone along just in case. But riding alone also has its advantages. I'm right next to whiting, and ride it often. Don't have time for a before work ride, but weekends and the occasional afterwork is doable. Be good to have someone else along. Sheet me a PM and we can hit the trails. Just FYI, Im not quick, but will get where we're going no problem.
Welcome! I too am nearby but only endure the climbs to enjoy the downhills. See you out there sometime I'm sure! Dave
So you readily admit you need psychological help! You will find many like-minded souls on this site. I have met many great riding partners and terrific people through STR, I expect you will also. Welcome!
Welcome! If you like climbing then you will really like BlackStar. Let me know when you want to tackle that trail and I will join you.
...and your avatar suggests differently! Full-face in DH attack position, apparently airborne. :bang:
Welcome to STR. I'm in the same neighborhood and ride Whiting, the surrounding trails, and the Santa Anas a few times per week, including before or after work. Don't know that I'd say I like climbing more than descending, but I enjoy the challenges of a good climb. I'm on a Giant Anthem 29er; hope to see you on the trails.
Welcome from Orange. I use to like climbing until the speed bug bit!! I'd ride w you but people have a tendacy to get hurt badly when they do....
