They can't - they haven't updated current conditions since February as far as I can tell.

They don't necessarily get on the site and update everyday, but I know some of the rangers there and will email them.

There were 23 in the group I rode with and we saw at least 2 dozen more either climbing or descending Harding today. We did Harding to Joplin.

Thanks for the pics Gene - I'll be seeing it firsthand tomorrow.
What'd you think of the conditions? I hear it's a lot smoother, but a ranger I talked to a week ago said lots of people were getting flats because of thorns.

Well they must of picked up most of them cause the entire group I rode with had zero flats. Harding has a definite line worn in on the left side of the road as you climb. It's a lot easier now than it was before the fires. Main reason, graded the road and its much smoother in most spots than before. Still a long climb and probably the best for training because you can make a good loop starting at Cook's: Harding/Joplin/Luge, Harding/HJ/O'Neill. ;)

Rode it yesterday at about 7 am. Lots of folks coming up around 10 am. Trail was in fantastic condition. Awesome views the entire way up!

I got some big thorns in my tires but my stans sealed them up.
