What a great weekend! On Saturday a few of the boys came up and we rode in the Tour de Palm Springs. with over 10,000 riders we raised over $125k in charity money that stays right here in Coachella Valley (including many animal adovacy groups). It was supposed to be freezing and rainey, but instead it was crisp & clear & perfect for riding. With conditions like this how could I pass up Sunday too!?

So I headed up Dunn road about 10am. First 6 miles and you get about 2100 ft. There was no one out there today. The trail was dust free from last weeks rain. Green is popping out everywhere. I bombed down Hahn, no flats this time:), and hooked back up with Dunn Road and then Wild Horse. Clara Burgess tough as usual, but well worth it. Murray Peak just can't be beat with the best views in the valley.
The single down was great. I biffed it about 3/4 of the way down and didn't realize I broke off the Garmin until I got to the bottom. So needless to say I got to ride the last 1/4 twice:)!!!

    Route: http://www.geoladders.com/show_route.php?route=635
    Mileage: 17.6
    Elevation Gain: 3729
    Wingman: Solo

At any rate, here are the pic's...

    I just rode it too

Me and a buddy rode that exact Geo route on Saturday and we started at about 10:15 from Cathedral Road. How many of you were out there? We only ran into 4 other riders the whole day. That was my first time riding out there and I loved it. The Hahn Buena trail was so sweet. Clara is one mean biatch. That climb was techy and the down did not disapoint either. Next time I want to explore with some other loops as I saw several other single tracks out there.

    Hey Paul

Thta's funny...I saw your nav comments on Geoladders when I was downloading pre-ride.
I actually rode it on Sunday so you wouldn't have seen me. I was solo.
Everything up there is getting killer right now. We get just enough rain to green things up. One variation you might try would be this...follow the same route but when you get to the Clara Burgess sign don;t go right. Instead go left, which is continuing on the Wilhorse Trail. You will get a killer knife edge ridge decent down onto the goat trails. Once you drop into the goat trails you can hang a right and wind/explore your way back into town. There are a lot of exit points and all of them basically dump you somewhere along the 111 hwy.
Hit me up if you go again and I will be glad to ride along.

PS- Are you getting rained on yet in RSM?

Those trails must be nice right now. My common ride up there is from the VONS parking lot up the goat trails to Palm Canyon North, it is a good tech DH.

My brother name is GARY works at the pet groomimg place, he rides those trails all the time. Hey try superman, it is a blast....

RAIN? It has not stopped pouring raining since 3AM. I have the day off and originally had planned a ride with my daughter but that is not going to happen. If it is still too wet to ride here this weekend we may hit PS again. Thanks for the trail advice. We figured we should explore but having never been there and short on time we stuck with the Geo route. Based on the lack of tire tracks it does not look like many people ride Clara Burgess. It was fun but I enjoyed Hahn much more with its flow. Next on the list is Art Smith Trail.
