Me, hill^billy and Mikie Watson finished clearing the upper section of Golden Eagle yesterday. It's the upper mile on the south side of the dirt road that nobody has ridden for years because the brush was too thick. Well you won't get hit in the chops or anywhere else by a scrub oak branch on that section anymore! It's been cut back wide enough for most handlebars now so you can see if you can still clear that rock garden. There are some parts on the lower sections that are a bit tight but the whole trail is now open and ridable! It needs more riders to smash the tall grasses that have grown in some spots so come on up and ride it while it's still a little green and before it may be declared "recommended wilderness".

thanks a million! Sorry I couldn't join you guys but couldn't get out of work. Next weekend I'd like to go hedge trim the lower section - a salami sized punji stick caught my left quarter-panel and threw me into the bushes on my Monday ride.

Thanks for the work guys. If you ever do a weekend clearing session, color me there.

Oh, and to any who want to ride this wonderful trail, I'll be hitting it this fine Sunday. See the SCV Dirtbag group for more details.
