Just had a new wheelset built by Ghisallo Wheels(Larry). I can't say enough about this guy. I left and kept commenting to my wife how awesome this guy was. He went above and beyond to accomodate my schedule and even let me sit in on the wheelbuild.

I had pieced the parts together, and from what I understood, I might've been able to save even more money by just getting all the parts from him.

I ended up going with Hope Pro II(front and rear), ZTR 355 rims, and straight 14g spokes.

The attention to detail was pretty awesome to see and the wheels were perfectly trued with no hop or side to side. I'll be posting a ride review after I figure out what tires I want to run on them. I still can't get over his prices, and he'll be seeing some more of my business in the future.

    Ghisallo'd my 29r

Read about Larry (chupacabra on here) and Ghisallo Wheels (ghisallowheels.com) a few weeks ago and decided to give Larry a call. He built up a really nice rear wheel consisting of a black anodized Hadley hub, DT Competition spokes and silver brass nipples laced up to a Stans Flow 29r rim. I plan to remove the Stans stickers for the stealth look, not into the bling. The extra width of the rim squared up the tire and the extra POE of the Hadley seems very noticeable on the 29r. I love the instant engagement. Took it out to MTT on Thanksgiving, the new wheel handled the rocks at Monroe Truck Trail with ease. Rode 7th/Turnbull cyn yesterday. Larry was great to deal with and builds up some nice wheels, I highly recommend him.

Rear tire is the OEM spec'd Bontrager DryX 29x2.1 as Pho'dUp ID'd. Looks bigger than a 2.1 because of the wider rim. Really can't complain for a rear tire. It totally sucked as a front tire. On the front I'm running a Rampage 2.35 and love it.

Nice wheels but I'm even more stoked that you are still using that old school Ringle bottle cage on the downtube...:bang:

Larry (aka Chupacabra) of Ghisallo Wheels... can't say enough good things about him. It's almost 1 year since the build and I couldn't be happier about the build and how well they have held up.

I made an appt yesterday to get the wheels serviced/trued and to my surprise, barely any adjustments had to be made, only a few turns to get it within spec. I ride at least 2-3x a week, so unless I am lucky, this is a testament of how strong and precise this wheelset was made. Larry took the time to teach me how to adjust the tension of the spokes, servicing the hubs and, overall, giving me the confidence to take on this task in the future (or at least give me the understanding so I can do it in a pinch). Like another poster mentioned, he pays A LOT of attention to detail... almost OC.

Concerning the build: best combination ever. Engagement is instant, stiff hoops (28mm width!!), very reliable hubs, tacky tires, no flats, mango!!, and love the sound of angry beezzzz

Like my pedals, this wheelset (or at least the hubs) will follow me whichever bike I have.

    Specs:
    Frt: CK 20mm
Rr: CK HD with SS driveshell and 10mm ‘fun bolts’
    Spokes: DT 1.8/2.0 Comp
    Rims: ZTR Flows
    Tires: Specy Purgatory Control 2.4
    Tubeless: Stans

BIG shout out for Ghisallo Wheels

Thanks,Larry from http://ghisallowheels.com Local here in Glendora and he ships if you don't want to drive.

I asked a few weeks ago about getting my Chris King hubs serviced but didn't have
the tools and wanted to learn how to do the service my self. Larry offered to let me use his C K tools and watch over me to make sure i didn't screw up my hubs(thanks again Larry).

This is truly an STR family member to offer this, if you need any wheel advice or repairs he
    is your man. :clap::clap:

THANKS LARRY the wheels were screaming today

Larry's awesome to deal with and is a great guy. I wouldn't be getting another set of wheels built by him otherwise.

Larry is highly recommended. Great guy to deal with.

Here's the set of wheels he built for me - sorry for the crappy cell phone pic.

Stan's FLOWs, Silver DT Spokes, Orange nipples to match the Orange I9 classic hubs. 15qr, and 10 thru axles.

Just passed 4,500 miles on the road wheelset Larry built for me last year -- Stan's Alpha 340 rims laced to White Industries hubs, Revolution spokes. A bit over 1300 grams, I'm on my 3rd set of tires and haven't even thought about truing the wheels. Nothing but praise for Ghisallo.

Just wanted to give a shot out to Larry!

I had him build be a Stans Flow/Hadley wheelset a couple years ago - bombproof. Ended up selling the wheelset with my bike.

Fast foward to this year and I was looking for another custom wheelset. I didn't go with Larry - decided to have a lbs build me one. It
needed to be trued after riding it for a few months so I took it to him. He had everything squared away in less than an hour. Excellent
customer service and all-around good guy! Had a buddy go to him a couple of weeks ago for a build and he couldn't be happier.

If you're looking for a custom build give Larry a hollar!

As an added plus, Larry is now home brewing, so you never know when you might get a taster with an excellent build. Hint hint Larry.

Ditto for all positive feedback on Larry! He just built me a wheel and trued the other. Honest work at honest price with great service.
