I was planning on riding the loop tonight but it rained this morning and don't want to deal with a bunch of mud. Has anyone been out there today and how are the conditions?

I was going to go this morning but it was pretty wet outside.. I'm going to head out there around 2:30 or 3 and get some riding in, since I'm not going to class :)

The Fully loop holds up quite well to a little soaking - makes for a very fun lap with really wet sections that are mostly avoidable.

Hey Pugz... Let's tough it out and just go for it! We're gonna start our ride around 6-ish. Starting point would be Bastanchury and Hughes Dr.....

    See you there!!:bang:

5:30 or 6 at the top parking lot of the court house. Look for a blue Tacoma.

Drains OK but still mud/puddles in the low spots (like the train tracks and dam), freakin plank bridge was out last time I rode it. just try not to rut it up too bad and it'll ride fine.

If anyone rides it today, please post the conditions. I would like to get an afternoon ride in, but not if it is too muddy. If I do ride I will avoid the train tracks/golf course/dam area and just do a shorter loop.

Just got back from morning ride there. Not as bad as the last rain, but still muddy at the train track and along the golf course.

I took the wife out for a courthouse - to - Lake mini loop. A few puddles but the majority is tacky. No mud on us or the bikes. The tracks' puddle is full now. Enjoy.

Hey Duke. The last time I saw you out there I got so muddy after we split off. I ended up walking that last section as there was no traction, spent the rest of the day cleaning my bike.

I just got back and the trail is good and tacky. The muddy spots are easily avoidable however I did not ride the RR tracks or the golf course. I figured it would be super muddy down there.

    Fully Loop conditions 2/7/09

I haven't been able to ride this whole week because of the rain, so yesterday I said what the hay, lets go riding! My Buddy Bruce and I rode to the loop and started at the section on Rosecrans near the fire house. I was expecting the worse, but it was actually pretty decent. The ground was really grippy, it wasn't muddy at all.

When you reach this section it starts to get a bit muddy. There's also a big puddle to the left.

The climb up the hill wasn't bad at all. it only had a few hours of sunshine on it, but it got pretty dry.

At the top of the hill theres a big puddle.

The second hill that has the water bars wasn't ridable at all, it was so slippery. We had no traction until we get half way up where it's actually dry.

At the top there's also a big puddle.

The section that leads to the lake was really muddy, traction was really a problem.

I was expecting the worse when I got to the lake, but I was really surprised to see that it was really dry.

Here's how muddy our bikes got.

After the lake we turned back and rode home because the sun was starting to go down and we didn't bring any lights.

I'm envious - won't be there next Sunday, but hopefully the Sunday after that I'll be there for the n00bie ride.

Next weekend, my wife and I are going out to Joshua Tree to do some hiking for her birthday / Valentine's Day.
