Thanks for reminding me! #-o :(

You know you're REALLY a friend of GABE (or Diamond Dave), when you walk into the shop and they TAZE you hello rather than saying hello!!!

PS- I believe Dave and I agreed to a race last Summer. He was on his skinny tired cyclocross.... I was on my 5" Downhill Bike (Iron Horse). Loser got tazed!!!! I WON!!!! Still waiting my friend.. still waiting......

P.S.- Thanks for the pics SAMMY. Being able to re-live special memories are 1/2 of what make STR such a special place!

P.P.S.- Long live Gabriel Zink (aka The King of all Knuckleheads)

Hey, I was at the Loop but missed most of you! I got there around 5, saw Andy Rut getting ready to head out and another fellow with a killer orange Niner with loud Hope hubs. I took off with a two guys named Gary, who graciously waited up for me until I was just too slow to keep up, and was helped the rest of the way by a nice fellow named Tom. We ran into someone I knew from PMBC, who had a flat, so waited a little while until she took care of that. Eventually got back to the lot around 6:45, which is probably just after you guys had already left. Oh well. Still fun; hopefully I'll meet more of you guys next time. But...don't tase me, bro!

For those that don't know, Tim rode the whole ride with the donkey ears on. Gabe rode with Shrek "ears" on his helmet. It was interesting...

The best part of it was the 'landing strip' on top - great for high speed stability!
it's funny - with this group you get used to the idea that there's nothing at all odd about riding around with donkey ears on, and then realize from all the double-takes as you ride that this sort of behavior isn't normal at all...

A couple of comments on this.

    1. It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be.

    2. It had bumps all over it.

    3. I shared it with Jesse AFTER I cut it in half with my Spyderco

    4. I chewed it into little pieces

What size pickles are you used to? You're kinda cute, but my pickle doesn't get largified in the presence of dudes...[-X

    Those are pleasure nubs... :bang:

Was it too big for you to handle the whole thing? :?: Obviously it was large enough for two...

    4. I chewed it into little pieces
    Did you swallow? :-k

side note, i would like to request trailwork on the fullerton loop please...

there is an endless black hole near the end of the golf course area...

hahahaha, yes i fell in last night.

as an aside, i wasn't hurt at all. no damage to bike but a bent tire. for some reason, the tire got bent, but the rim is straight? i think may be me dropping to the bottom of the hole over pressured the tire? may be a tire bubble?

personally, i managed to slow down before i got to the hole. so the crash wasn't bad. i think the people behind me thought i crashed hard? i remember laughing when i fell, but all i heard was, "do you see blood?", "are you okay?", and "is the bike broken?". i thank the people behind me who helped me up. i think the only reason i had a hard time getting up was my thighs were tired from the previous up hill... hahahhaa...

Hey Jerome. Sorry that we dropped you #-o(We saw you had company). I think we lost you shortly after the turn off of Rosecrans but you were keeping up just fine!!! Try to come out for the 2nd lap (leaves @6:45) next week. Loads of great people with plenty of re-groups.

That hole has been repaired before but keeps developing when it rains or when the golf course over waters (not sure which). It is dangerous and has caused several injuries. Glad you got out ok. Stay left and warn others to do the same.

I went to Ace Hardware the other day and I bought some velcro straps and a really big o-ring, plus I saw a 75 watt MR16 bulb, so I bought it since it was just $4;). The velcro works really well at attaching my light to my helmet and it's so much easier attaching my second light to my handlebars with an o-ring, just stretch it and loop it across the light and the handlebars.

On the Sunday loop I was told that I shouldn't run tire liners, and a heavy duty tube since it's so heavy. So I might go to harbor freight later this week and pick up some slime so I can just run a plain tube, I might even pick up a 100 watt MR16 bulb just for the heck of it if they have some in stock, maybe even some other items if they catch my eye.:D
