The loop was just fine last night. Muddy along the tracks, but rideable. Golf course was fine. Everything held up fine. The path on Bastanchury uo to State College has a lot more ruts in it.

Haha i know you would be here asking..

Me and Dee went last night. everything held up fine. just damp dirt and some mud puddles. and some few ruts. Very fun especially when we hit the unexpected mud puddle and mud flew everywhere!

    Fullerton Loop Trail Work

Forgot to post that there is trail work being done down in the Brea Dam area ( right after the tunnels ). Loader, tractor, weedeaters, blowers. Wednesday the single tracks through this area will be worked on . Just a heads up to watch for these guys and debris on the trail .

    Thanks

Thanks for the trail work and heads up!

Rode the loop earlier today (around 9:45-11am) and the trail crew was already clearing the left part of the trail after the tunnels. The right part was just being started on.

Excellent news, Dave. You'd never know I brushed those trails for 3 straight days just a month ago. That mutant carroty looking stuff is freakin' aggressive this year. Good to hear the heavy machinery's coming out.

Btw, beautiful work on the stretch behind the Sports Complex. What a difference.

I dug that part too...except it always seemed to rip my earbuds out every time, really killing the SLAYER buzz!

Thanks Dell We have had some prime weather for weed growth the last few months. Rain then high 80s the next day. With the layoff of 12 landscape guys this year its been hard to complete the work we normally do in a timely manner. May is the month we tackle all the trail issues. Thanks for all the the help and compliments.

For you that said they like the overgrowth , dont worry it will be back like gangbusters. The main trail out of the tunnels we like to keep it as wide as we can for emergency and maint vehicles. The single tracks will be wide only for a short period till it grows back.

Dates of trail volunteer work and events on the trails

April 30th, Laguna Lake and Juanita Cook trail weed and trash pick up from volunteer group.

May 1st, 5K down in after tunnel area.

May 14th and 21st, volunteer group repairing fence behind sports complex.

May 14th and 21st, cleanup on castlewood trail on eucalyptus behind reservoir.

Thanks for doing a nice job. Last week the James Wernke Trail was really tight, and it was only a matter of time before it would become unpleasant to ride. This evening I rode the main trail and the Bridge Variation, and was pleased to find that the dirt was undamaged and the overgrowth gone.

If you guys get bored, there are some trails up this way that could benefit from your finesse.

    Rob

Thanks Mr. Old. I'll keep my eyes open for "flying debris" ;)

I'll be out there today, but much later in the afternoon.
