I might hold off a day or two from riding the loop. You can bet behind the hospital and golf course is going to be a mess. Railroad tracks has to be nightmare as usual. Besides, I'm sure that there are enough puddles that could use a little more time to dry out before we go treading through them with our bikes.

i was just there a few hours ago.. it was awesome fun! For the most part it was dry and just damp dirt. A little muddy at some parts especially the wooded areas but you can dodge the puddles easy.
All the down hill seam intact just a few new ruts but nothing crazy. The rail road area is really muddy... i did get stuck a little bit but no biggy. The golf course was OK more damp than muddy.

all and all it was a good ride.

    Fullerton Loop Trees Down

Dont know if this was already posted. There is a few large trees blocking the single track after Richman Knoll. When you cross the street and pass the swing gate on the left the trees are 50' ahead. Go to the right then catch the single track after the trees. Caution tape and barricades are present.

Today tree crews will be in Hiltscher Park removing downed trees and piles of limbs. Trucks, bins and loaders will be present.

    Just a heads up

Rode there last night. The blockade is a surprise in the dark at speed :) Thanks for making the detour, so we could get back to the fun part of the trail.

Lots of sand? Huh? Are we riding the same loop?

I can't think of anywhere along the loop that has much sand at all, let alone lots of it.

That said, it rained for a while up here last night, but it's dry today. The loop should be fine to ride by this evening.

By Rosecrans? I've crossed Rosecrans riding the loop, but never ridden along it. It's not part of the loop.

I still have no idea where you think there's sand on the loop. Maybe a little bit in some of the trails behind the dam? Part of the climb up Mormon Hill?

The fact the there isn't much sand is the reason the that loop gets so torn up if people ride it too soon after heavy rain. Quite a bit of the soil out there has a fair bit of clay, which leads to it getting so rutted.

Actually, if you ride the normal loop you do ride along Rosecrans. I think you could say the soil on the loop is sandy compared to areas that stay closed because of clay soils.

I road it this morning, it was nice. A little muddy along the tracks heading up to the golf coarse but still able to stay on dry ground.
