I just bought a used 05 reign 1 and I love the thing. I am sure with the new technology it is even better. I can barely - if it all- feel bob when standing up smashing up a hill and the thing descends great, around 33 lbs too (i think)

I can't help but recommend the Reign X. I've flogged mine for over a year and a half, on full DH duty, and it's held up great. great suspension, reasonably priced, great warranty.

looking at the newer model X1, it's a helluva deal.

I mean, how many $2500 bikes are you going to find with a DT 340 / DT EX500 (formerly 5.1) wheelset? that's worth almost half the bike price right there.

I'd say one of those with a big fork (totem solo air + dog collar) would be a great big AM bike.

for other options I've seen that are awesome:
-path ventana (great geo, not too spendy, good build quality)
-nomad (more of a burlier reignX with a different suspension design)
-Stinky (just plain burly. good, reasonably priced bikes)

Keep an eye on Chainlove, Salter77 bought an Intense Slope Style for dirt cheap but it together with descent componets for less then half your budget.

Dood go with the Intense Uzzi. I have the rear Fox Air Shock on it as well and with the Pro Pedal this bike climbs really well for a 35 pound bike. When your going down on some technical stuff open up the real shock and open up the Talas shock.

I middle ringed Turnbull yesterday on a Slopestyle. My vote goes to that bike. Absolutely rails coming down as well. Lyrik Uturn or other adjustable fork for climbing, best of both worlds

    Titus El Guapo

I'm all about all mountain. I will never shy away from a gnarly climb. And I like to pin it on the way back down.

I rode a 2002 Enduro for 8 years. When it was time to build a new bike, I was torn between another Enduro, the Nomad, and the Remedy. But I'm stoked every day that I went with the El Guapo. Highly recommend you add it to your short list.

I rode everything on my Mongoose Black Diamond Triple with 2.5 Nevegals, and a Boxxer ride...45 pounds never felt so good on a climb! Just sold her on Saturday though....but, I bought a Remedy!:)

I agree. Although the SS2 (2010) is off the hook. The rear end is stiffer (they used the rear from the 951) and head angle is even more slack. With a 34t chain ring and a Command Post it's unstoppable. I switch out the Command Post to a short post for racing and shuttling. I built it heavy and it ended up at 39 lbs even. With lighter cranks, tires, bars, brakes... it could be low 30's without a doubt. I've been pedaling it quite a bit (huge change from my 50 lb Faith) and it's awesome. I thought of putting a Hammerschmidt on it, but didn't have the money. Good luck!

I have to say, the Remedy's suspension is the GREATEST on the market. It's not just some marketing hype. The rear suspension keeps the rear wheel on the ground at all times (until you want to jump) and lets you blast through the rough stuff. I have ridden a 2007 enduro sl, 2009 reign X, a Titus El Guapo and none could compare to the remedy through rock gardens. It flys really well too. Very controllable in the air.
