I, for one, have never gotten the impression that you spam, solicit or abuse your privileges here. I think you're aware that a good chunk of your customers are STR members and you throw things out there and for most part, people are grateful and appreciative. To me, you're more informative then anything else. If your finger wasn't on the pulse and you were coming here strictly to drum-up business and nothing else, then that would be a whole different ball game. I'm not bothered by it, in fact, I appreciate it. Thanks!

As some others have said, what's going on lately with people being hyper-sensitive and posters going on the offensive? Can we all just settle down a bit and keep our eye on the prize?

    Nah...I don't want a 70 degree HA.

If it had a lock down of sorts, perhaps.

I think Tani's observations are correct - there does seem to be a small anti-path sentiment because of the perceived spamming and path loyalists are retaliating to a perceived attack; however, we all know he does run a valuable operation - maybe it would just be better to buy advertisements to announce new products like Jenson?

And which STR shops have the F120 in stock?

And how many marketplace posts are required for "flooding" to occur?

    Just asking questions...

I can't believe this thread blew up like it has...All I know is that prior to reading this thread I wasn't aware of Fox's new 120mm 29er fork nor the upcoming 09 reba with through axle...Now I know. I appreciate the post. Thanks guys!

    Good question Jose.

Are you running your Reba at 80 or 100mm now?

I'm thinking the 120mm will slacken your head angle by another degree. So it could affect the steering and handling of the bike.

Can someone at the Path measure the offset of these new forks and post up? Thanks. That may help quicken the steering a bit if it's more offset than your current Reba. Or if you're worried about upsetting the folks with more posts you can just PM me and I'll post it up b/c I'm sure there's inquiring minds that want to know.

For me, I think the U-turn Reba is looking like a better option b/c my bikes don't have as steep of HA as some of the Niners. But the axle to crown on the Fox forks are shorter usually than RS right?

Jose - You don't want a 120mm on a Sir9. The 100mm is enough. If you want more travel, hook it up to a nice full suspension rig and call it good. I think The Path has a few bikes in your size. But, then if that were the case, I would wait for the Reba with through axle and U-Turn...... I swear I am not spamming!

    Joser...

I have the F29 running at 100, I think that's all that's needed on a hardtail. Swapping a fox for a reba (both at 100) will quicken the handling, and the fox is stiffer and has more offset.

said it before and saying it again. (btw- just read the post no harm no foul or spam) as found at related thread http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/general-discussion/19285-spam.html#post296856

hey - i never read the post(s) at hand and cannot speak to if spam or not (yes - i am the ultimate authority ;) )but a few thoughts.

This board is not magic - it did not appear and remain in place from a cloud of smoke. People like George (who developed it) the the mods who "manage" it (Craig, Gene, Bret, etc) should be thanked every day for keeping this alive - if they do something you disagree with whether they are wrong/right once in a while i suggest we suck it up.

Also suggest we take note on how many times the various owners and employees of all the LBS step up to answer so many of the very tech Q's to posts on anything ranging from bike, components, installation. maintenance. etc. Nobody seems to have issues then - cut them some slack.

We are very lucky to have a portal as developed as this and a live in a community that has some very good mtb shops that give back to the community!!!!

i say take all the good stuff, ignore the rest and ride MF'r ride

    Agree with Burner here

120mm would be overkill. I ran a 100mm Reba and it was nice. A 100mm Fox with more offset would be even nicer.
