Whoops, saw that Rude was 3rd and 5th on two stages, didn't see that he had a disastrous first stage. Dayum...

Nobody on STR seems to care about top level mountain biking, but here are the results anyway:

Rude sucked and is probably now regretting his decision to abandon DH after winning the (junior) World Championships last year. I'd look for him to ditch Yeti next year and return to DH. Local shredder Curtis Keene was SOLID and perennial stud horse Jared Graves took the W on his outdated tiny wheels. And on the Womens' side, Tracy Mosely is still on another planet.

I know it's not Over The Hump, nor arguing about who has the right to what part of the road, but THIS is impressive mountain biking folks...

Yes, on stage one and finished like 300th. He was 3rd and 5th on stages two and three (on the same trail), but was in the high 20s in today's stages. Not bad for the kid, but not the top-level he was at in DH.

So over 6 stages, a bit over 1 hour 20 minutes of timed "mostly" downhill for the fastest guys, and there's only 4 seconds between the top 3? That's crazy close.

No doubt, when they are doing 6 timed runs and the shortest is 10 minutes and longest around 16, that is brutally tough racing/biking, plus they have to pedal between the timed parts... impressive indeed. But the format and accessibility (or lack of live broadcast, at least that I could find) make it a bit hard to follow IMO. I read about about it when it's over.

Yeah the coverage is the issue. The last race of last year they had great coverage in Whistler.
