When I did my TAV May 21, it was still overgrown, but like Doug(dirtvert mentioned, the fireroad after has been cleared and ruts filled. Here are the pics I took of that day:

I rode it two weeks ago. The overgrowth did NOT get in the way of fun...in fact it cushioned a fall near the bottom!

I did my TAV today and went on Redtail/Rattlesnake. Not too badly overgrown, but could use some light brushing at some point in time. These are about the 2 narrowest sections of Redtail Ridge. The rest of it and most of the park is in good shape.

I love how the fire road coming from Rattlesnake is more like a singletrack in some spots than a fire road. Hopefully it stays that way.

I've been riding Rattlesnake about once a week and it is about the most fun (techy) that it has ever been, due to the big rains in Dec. I am noticing, however, that the technical section seems to be getting wider and wider. I do not want to hijack a thread on trail conditions, but if you are uncomfortable riding a section of trail, please take the extra second and hop off your bike and walk it. Riding off the trail, around difficult sections, alters the trail for seasons.

i rode el moro this evening after work. started from ridge park, rode down/up the fireroad, entered el moro and continued on to red tail/rattlesnake/up mach one/ no dogs/main parking area-ranger station/canyon floor/up i think i can/along the ridge/missing link/fenceline/back out to fireroad up to ridge park.

i hadn't ridden that route in at least a year or more. redtail wasnt too overgrown at all, and rattlesnake seems to be a bit chunkier than i remember. i had to pick and choose my lines a bit more carefully since i hadnt ridden it in some time. (was also my first time down it on my 29er h/t). the fireroad down and back up after the chunk section has a nice ribbon of singletrack on it, some chunky dirt clods/rocks are strewed along it when dipping down into the canyon. mach one was fine, and that little singletrack that parrallels no dogs was fine as well. it was cool to see the new campground and cross that new bridge that takes you into the canyon floor trail, that thing is really nice. i think i can was its normal grinding self, there are a few water bar/humps that werent there the last time i rode it (over a year ago). nothing special to report along the ridge or on missing link and fenceline.

overall it was a great 11.3 mile after work loop. i really love riding this place in the late afternoon/evening. there is something about roller coastering along the ridge, as the sun is starting to set that can't be described!

It looks like Chopper has been out this past week dialing in Fenceline at El Moro. Noticed his signature trail touch-ups yesterday. Brilliant maneuver around that rock that was in the middle of the trail. Thanks Robin!!!
Let us know when you'll be coordinating a trail maintenance day.

My daughter and I rode Fenceline this morning and she liked that the brush was trimmed back and did not slap her in the face the whole time, I think it even got her to be a little more confident and ride a little faster, so my 7 year old daughter Ryan says thanks!

I'm not really familiar with the trail names, but the one that follows the 133, stagecoach(?), has about 4 inches of standing water at some places. And it's pretty muddy everywhere else.

    Whiting Ranch is closed. http://www.ocparks.com/whitingranch/
    El Moro is closed http://www.ocparks.com/whitingranch/
LCWP is OPEN (they only got trace amounts of rain).
The Aliso answering machine message at 7:15AM says the trails are OPEN but they don't have a time stamp on the message. Can anyone confirm that this is current?

Not sure how El Moro got enough rain to close if LCWP didn't.

It depends on how much rain they got. Call the numbers to those parks. There is a "Sticky" I created in the trailhead section with all the numbers and links here:
    http://www.socaltrailriders.org/for...s-phone-numbers-links-current-conditions.html

The Aliso phone message is contradicting cause it says open at the beginning, but days closed due to wet and muddy conditions when you listen through and choose option #4 :?:

El Moro is closed, but I called LCWP and they're open.

El Moro is the first to close and the last to open.
Don't piss on the trails there or you will get the park closed for all of us ;)

Aliso is open earlier than most.

Dunno why this is but my theory is that is is State controlled and if the State can close something, they will.
    Cost savings ya' know.

Prepping for a late morning/early lunch ride and checked the sites. As usual LCWP opened yesterday and Crystal Cove's site still says closed. I called the ranger station to confirm and they said El Moro is not opening until the weekend.

Anyone on Facebook can follow the OC Parks page. They're pretty good about posting updates on openings and closures.

Just got back from doing the Nix Loop from Ridge Park -- kept it legal and on open trails. The trails are perfect right now. The only standing water and mud is on Bommer where it parallels Fenceline, between Deer/Rattlesnake and Slow and Easy. Everything else, including Laurel, is perfect. Stagecoach is so good right now. They've gone in and cut some runoff trenches off of most the switchbacks climbing up from the parking lot -- and some mid trail. It was done on the backside as well, but they did a great job b/c it doesn't effect the corners at all.

Funny thing -- there's a traffic horse set up at the very corner of Bommer as it drops down to the 73 from Ridge Park that says all parks are closed due to rain. Saw it on my way out as I was popping up from the trail to the road.

I was ready to believe they really had horses directing traffic, but now that you claim they can talk I'm not so sure.
