Anyone know how much this bike is worth? It has full Camp Record grouppo and Fulcrum Racing wheels set. Bike is kinda of beat up and the frame is still in good condition. Serial number on the frame is BM-724. I like to get this bike back to it rightful owner.
Oh man I hope whoever did that to that pretty bike is locked up. In its heyday that was an $8,000+Bike. Colnago has moved past that model 2x now with the C59 and C60. Good used condition you might get $1500-2000. As it sits $500+. I'm assuming by the pics the Groupo/wheels/bars are toast. Looks hammered! I always wanted one of those. If it's available to buy or auction let me know. I'd love to fix it!
Based on the avatar and the fact the photos appear to be taken in a patrol/report writing room it would guess he came across it as stolen goods.
Can't really say how I came across it but let just say they guy who rode it doesn't look like the type who would own these kind of bikes. He couldn't tell the difference between a Walmart Next brand and this Colnago. Just trying to get the bike back to the rightful owner that's all. The guy who was caught riding it is going to jail. I posted the same thread in RBR but it was met with such negative reactions. O well..at least I tried. Thanks for looking and not being so obtuse.
Holy crap, you are not kidding. I thought STR could get a little rough, but the folks over at Roadbike Review are simply unbelievable. (read d*cks) http://forums.roadbikereview.com/general-cycling-discussion/stolen-colnago-c50-323123.html Regardless, good work trying to do the right thing. Most people don't realize that police work usually can't be wrapped up cleanly in 58 minutes like an episode of CSI.
Just shows you the difference between mountain bikers and Roadies. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2
Tony I wouldn't think differently between a mtb'ers vs roadies. We all share the same passion. And that is riding bikes. But the maturity level here does reflect the average age groups.
I bet those people would complain if the police wasn't doing enough to help get bikes back to their owners. But when a police tries to actually help, they do this
Cmon man. Why you got to deflate my opportunity to take a shot at Roadies? When we going to hook up for a Mt or road ride? Haven't ridden with you in years Sent from my SCH-I605 using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2
See if Ted at www.Bikinginla.com will post it for you. He reaches a lot of different riders in the socal area.
Tony, put together a nooby ride again. I haven't really touch any of my bikes since I took a nasty spill. Been fishing a lot and playing in the water with my Hobie kayak.
I don't know we have plenty of trolls of the same level if not higher level than those in that thread
I just find it funny that most aren't reading and just making stupid comments and observations Sent from my SCH-I605 using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2
Good on ya OP for trying to get it back to it's rightful owner.. Hoping for a happy reunion. Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk 2
Hopefully the owner gets the bike back.. In my experience, the majority of people aren't writing down the serial numbers to their valuables. The chances of someone getting their property back without reporting the serial number are pretty slim. About two weeks ago I saw a guy riding a bike while pulling along a second bike at his side and a pair of bolt cutters hanging out the top of his backpack. It wasn't anything nearly as nice as that colnago, but it was a decent mountain bike. Guy went to jail and now the bike is collecting dust.
