Chris Horner is only 28 seconds behind Vincenzo Nibali. Does Horner have a chance of making up that time? I like both of them so picking a favorite is hard but Nibali already had a big win this year so it's Horner's turn now.

Horner still has his chances, but time is running out. This Vuelta is a perfect example of racing in the post-EPO era... it's now a game of inches and seconds.
Horner's last, best chance is probably Saturday's Stage 20 because it ends with an HC climb to the finish. While he had Nibali on the ropes, he wasn't able to deliver the knock-out blow. I suspect that Nibali will have the chance to recharge between now and Saturday... he'll be ready for Horner.

Horner is poised to win the Vuelta!
Chris has to follow wheels but Valverde and Purito have to give everything
Tomorrow on L'Angliru will be epic!

I don't think has a contract for next year yet so a Vuelta win (heck even a podium spot) will really give him a boost in negotiations!

Anyone that can climb standing up a 20% grade with an ear to ear grin is just fun to watch!

Pretty much done now: unless he has a major disaster on the ceremonial stage to Madrid tomorrow, Chris Horner, our own SoCal guy has WON THE VUELTA!

Now THAT was exciting! It sure looked like Vincenzo had a chance there right up until just before the last K.

So I take my head out of the sand, Really? everyone thinks because he's cool dude that he's that much better that 12-17 year old riders younger than he is? Whatever he's on will show up 1-3 years from now. Just like the old days.

I'm amazed most of you would think he's clean.

Congrats to Horner! (until we hear otherwise I'm going to assume it was some combination of skill, luck, and timing that brought him the win)
