How about STR Jerseys for the cripple ride that read something like: 'I survived the Thursday STR Fully Loop Ride' I'd buy one!
Yeah the surgeon said he rarely see's damage like that. He said to have shatterd the bones that way and done the radial neck and also put fractures in the elbow joint was 'some serious going' 8-[ Do I win a prize?!
Some bad news today - arm had developed some weird 'clicking' sound so to cut a long story short I'm back in a cast that immobilises me forearm and elbow. So sadly I wont be doing the beach ride at least for another 3 weeks. Doc wasnt sure what had happened to it but squeezed and pressed my arm until I was literally screaming. He also couldnt answer why I was unable to get any rotational use out of my arm. might have to have another surgery later down the line to remove one of the plates and seperate the bones if they grow together. Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat.
Keith, so sorry to hear that; I'll try harder with healing vibes! Maybe we can tow you along on a beach ride (by "we", I mean the other guys, you know, the strong riders). Can you fit into one of those toddler things? Just curl up your legs a bit
I couldnt hold the bars on my road bike (on the trainer) so I've done a grand total of 35mins riding in the gym since it all went Pete Tong. I'd better learn to love the recumbent bike in there!
Keith - sorry to hear the bad news, man. Just keep thinking positive and do what you can. Hope you end up with some better news next time.
Hang in there Keith... I know you will pull through with time. After all, we have the technology to rebuild you. NaNaNaNaNaNaNaNa
Hang in there dude. Try to stay positive and stay strong in mind. The best physical therapist I've had always told me "Don't worry about it. That's my job." When you're healing up, sometimes you can't control everything so just try roll with it and try not to stress and freak about it all. Hey, sitting on the beach can be just as nice too. Feel better. Carl
Can you spot where one of the metal plates is??! 8-[ Thanks for the support guys - its nothing that time and money won't fix!
Hey Keith, sorry to hear about the complications... but, they're just that, complications. You'll heal up soon. I'm still looking forward to the beach ride... might need a jacket though. I got on my bike yesterday and rode around the block. It felt good, not going to push it though, still pretty stiff. Heal up quick!
