Anyone riding the Black Mtn Enduro in San Diego on Nov 3rd. I'm hoping to pre-ride on Saturday if possible. I think they have xc racing on Saturday, so might be limited trail use.
Im pretty sure this guy had the dates wrong. There was one portion of the website that had a schedule with the nov 2 date but everything else said jan.
Looking forward to this weekend's racing! Also very excited to announce that SHIMANO is now sponsoring the series, which means ton of cool stuff for all of you guys! Stay tuned for more details and a preview video in the next couple of days! http://racepca.com/Black_Mountain.html Have a great New Year!
I would love to do this, but at $65 per race, that's a little pricey for me, good luck to all who are doing this event
The $75 is for the Enduro which is 3 timed stages that add up to determine an overall class champion. The staffing not to mention logistics needed to run LIVE timing and all stages simultaneously it tremendous. The XC is 3 10 mile laps on Saturday and is only $50 day of. We do not require a license to compete in our events. Video is up for the 2014 Winter Enduro Series presented by Shimano MTB and Kenda Tires USA. The price is high (and the drive is far from North OC) but if you haven't tried one of these Enduro races yet, you should. They are a lot of fun. I pre-rode the 3 courses two days ago. Lots of chunky rocks and flowing trail. Not too technical until you start going fast. Usually these trails have a lot of hikers, so it will be fun to bomb down them without worrying about running into someone. The climbing in between courses is about like climbing Blackstar (when you add all the climbs together). Nothing too tiring and you can always walk if you want to.
Great event today Robert. Your series actually has real trails that require some technical ability. Can't wait for the next race.
Thanks! EC and I work hard at getting the right mix of trail and fun! Elfin Forest is up next and its a blast! Website is now updated with Elfin forest info. Here is the video from Black Mountain!
You guys need to come down for the Elfin event. Some of the best trails around and a real hidden gem. As for it being an overnight trip from OC it is an hour drive each way.
