I had a great experience doing business with them online. I ordered the wrong size of a seat post clamp and I emailed them, they gave me a return number which I wrote on the invoice and sent it back, all within a 5 day period and no shipping charge for the correct one.

just a bit of info about bike bling: AS THE FORMER KHS REP for bikebling, i thought to myself, this guy Kerry is a jerk! he could never just give me his order, he was always speaking to other people. It took a trip from glendale , where i live, down to the shop to see for myself whats up. I was blowen away! The owner kerry is crazy busy, what you may not know is he allways has 2 phone headsets going, 1 phone per ear. he is a fairly new shop and his shop has growen fast! so bare with him and his staff, he truely goes out of his way, if he is behind his desk in the back its because he is talking to not 1 but 2 sales reps at the same time trying you get your products in the store faster.

I was there today during my break from delivering the driveshaft to Oceanside Driveline. I thought of checking out Bike Bling that eveyone was talking about.. In one pervious thread where someone stated that they werent friendly.. I have to say that is a B.S. because I got help within 10 mintues after he had to do what he has to do. and there was 3 other customers in store as well.. No wonder why they got so much on shelf around store, for you to be patenice look around until you get help. I got really good deal as well, so I would give that shop 5 stars because they do have more than what most bike shops carry, and friendly people. :steppie:

Just bought a pair of Sidi's from John there today. I was looking for a "home" shop- I've found it. As a former shop employee/manager, I was impressed. It was my second trip in, and they were very helpful in just the right amount. Something that I really admired, they had taken a local kid under their wing and actually gave him a bike if he stayed out of trouble and kept his grades up. He was actually in the shop working on his own bike. Some people may not approve, but I think giving back to the "shop rats" will just keep that kid riding for life instead of becoming a statistic.:beer:

Kind of a drag seeing this "bad experience" thread get bumped with these recent positive responses. Would be cool to see them relocated to their own thread where they belong.

I just changed the thread title to reflect both the good and the bad. For tidiness, want to keep the related reviews together.

Went to BikeBling for the first time on Saturday morning. I had a great experience. The guys were very helpful and definitely answered my numerous questions. They also let me wander around the store so I could lust after all the bling.

I definitely will go back to spend my hard earned money there and recommend it to anyone else.

I have been there twice and my wife stopped in last night. We have both had great experiences. It is amazing how much they have packed into that small shop and how busy Kerry is trying his best to satisfy customers. We will definitely be back to buy more goodies at Bike Bling.

I wish that they would put prices on more of their product. Im a comparison shopper and I feel like an idiot when I have to ask for the price of every item that see in the store.

I mis-read this quote and thought you wanted him to reach around the counter and see all the "special" attention he'll get.

Not sure, but I think the guys over there may be reading this forum. I went in to check the shop out for the first time, about a week ago. The mechanics up front greeted me. "How's it going, need any help?", Me "Nah, just checking the place out." Them, "Cool, if you need any help let us know."

After a little browsing, one of the guys in the back asked the same thing.

Personally I'm a fan of just the upfront greeting. What I hate is that any descent sales/customer service person should be able to tell the difference between a Browser and a Shopper after 30 seconds of them being in the store. However, that initial greeting should happen in the first 5 seconds, even if they are helping someone else.

I'll be going back to Bike Bling. Incredible in stock selection and better prices than Performance on lots of stuff.

I've had great experience there.. with the mechanics up front, i've always been greeted, offered help, and had more than one freebee bit of advice.
Kerry has been great, and the mail order service A-1.

    Great selection of gear too.

My only suggestion would be to get the shop on a proper cash register/scan format to make check out quicker. I understand they were born out of the internet model, but now that they are representing themselves as a proper shop, they need to have that streamlined.

good guys, good shop, and imo, the only shop in SD county ( north ) worth driving too.. and I live next to mtb wharehouse/performance/trek etc....

Yeah. I got a kick out of the "Bike Bling rocks, the OP must be a liar" posts. Who knows? Maybe the guys at Bike Bling read this thread and are being a little more conscious about customer service. If that's the case, then good job to them. Anyhow, their web service has been good to me so far (YMMV), and I think the coupon code "hookup" still works for 10% off.

Sounds like the owner got his apprenticeship from Beyond Bikes and is teaching his employees the same.

I use the internet to see what's out there, and what I want to spend my time looking for. Then I head over to a brick and mortar LBS to check it out. I've shopped at BikeBling several times. Always courteous, always helpful, without too much. Kerry asked how I heard of his shop- told him I heard about it here and how disappointed I was with my local shop. It would not surprise me at all if they follow the forums and threads regarding their shop.

bike bling is great. It is a few miles from my work and if I need a part they have it or will get it for me. Plus they usually have low prices and if not they will price match. It sure beats paying for shipping.

I think this shop is great, best shop i ever shopped at so far. Because they do have downhill parts in stock, and if not, they order it FAST for me. Not like any other bike shops.. my second choice would be JensonUSA, though they take forever on orders.

    Never use Bike Bling

Very poor customer service. I would never use this shop again.

I ordered some protective gear online from BikeBling.

First, they say they would match the price, but they don't. I received the order confirmation with the full price without any adjustment at all.

Second, even though they don't have the product that you ordered in stock, they don't notify the customer about it for more than a week. I sent them an email inquiry about it, but they never replied. Their excuse was that there is only one guy handling more than 120 online customers.

Third, if you call their 800 number, guess what? You will either hear answering machine or you will be placed on hold for 10 minutes. Even after 10 minutes of waiting, they talk with another guy at the store. They don't give you full attention you deserve. They simply don't care about the customer on the phone.

Don't order from this guy on-line. It's not worthy it.
