Monday, I rode the top half of BSR from Mt Baldy Rd down (South) about 3 miles and turned around. The trail/fireroad was freshly graded and cleared. It's no longer a single track. I'm wondering about the lower part through Cucamonga Canyon. The last time we rode about a year ago, it was almost unrideable. Heading South, the BSR trail turns East at Frankish then South through Cucamonga Canyon and ends at Sapphire Rd. Does anyone know if lower BSR still washed out?
http://www.socaltrailriders.org/for...toddard-cucamonga-truck-trail-02-25-12-a.html Rode this in February 12'. We rode up from the rancho side. A little overgrown. It would be more fun coming down than climbing.
I just got a reply from the forest service. BSR in Angeles NF has been graded. The West Cucamonga Truck Trail leading to Sapphire Rd is still overgrown and washed out. There are no plans from San Bernardino NF to clear it.
Rode it sat morning for the first time. Trail was not in bad shape in my mind. A few sections are challenging not to overgrown or washed out. I KOMed it on the way down the 3.9 mile section.
