I got my Salsa frame from them. Dave was great to work with and John builds some mean wheels.

Nice. They have got some sweet Mavericks on mega huge blowout sale pricing. Three or so left I believe as of 7/12/09.

I've personally had one good and one bad experience at Banning's.

The first time over there they were great and very helpful... they answered all my questions and it was an overall really good experience. The second time I went over there I ordered bushings and the bolts for my rear shock which they said they'd get in a week. I called a week later, no luck. The week after that, the same thing and they said they'd call me when they got it in. It's been over a month now and I never got a call :?:

I stopped by Bannings for the first time and was completely impressed.

    1. Banning walked me through all the current tech and possible components for a road bike
    2. I was thinking about buying a used road bike (Torelli) and asked for his opinions on it. He gave me REALLY vital insight (gen 1 versus gen 2 distinctions) that basically was a make or break issue.
    3. He offered to take a look at the bike for me if I brought it into the store.
    4. He even offered me a beer while checking it over (since they were closing)

Great shop, amazing service, highly recommended for roadies.

Snakerider and Chevrolegs, I am personally sorry for your bad experiences. Santa Cruz now offers Biz 2 Biz online inventory and we have revamped our ordering system. We are also stocking Yeti, BMC, and Santa Cruz for 2011. Snakeyes and all, we wecome people coming in and hanging out, even if your not looking to purchase something.
    Cheers,
    Banning

I bought a new road bike at Banning's; a first for me, buying new that is. I am completely happy with the bike and the service at the shop. Banning recommended the bike to me, a Pinarello FP3, even though he knew I was willing to spend more. The shop is a great place to hang out too. I highly recommend it.

I just want to let you guys know that if you buy a bike from Banning's they will take care of you!! Id been having major problems with my entry level Shimano hydros (M575's, I would NEVER recommend these brakes to anyone) basically since I got my new bike, a Yeti ASR-5. On my last visit to the shop to drop off my bike, they said thats it, we are returning them to Shimano. So not only am I getting the old, unreliable brakes taken back, but they are working with Shimano to upgrade me to the new XT brakes!!! They have really taken care of me over there, and I have NO doubt that if you go there they'll take care of you too.

About two weeks ago, I called Bannings looking to find out if they had a particular Thomson seat post in stock. The woman put me on hold for a while, then came back and said the one person who could help me was with a customer and asked for my number so that he could call me back. Yeah, right. No thanks.

Seriously? Has Bannings become a one-man show on Saturday afternoons? They really need to get a competent person who can answer the phone, not just a receptionist or somebody's girlfriend who doesn't have a clue. I called more than a dozen shops at that time, and every one of them had someone answer the phone who could immediately answer the question, except Bannings. Negative points in my book.
