Bad news from Mammoth

    I heard that there was a death on Mammoth Mountain yesterday. It sounds like the guy's name was Dave. I think he was a local. The accident happened in West Bowl. Apparently the ski patrol found him face down and not breathing. He was taken to the hospital and then flown to Reno. He didn't make it. I first heard that it was a head injury but have also heard that he had several injuries. Current speculation is that he hit a rock just under the surface and tumbled into more rocks. Be careful out there.

    oh man, I think there was one a few years back as well, its such a great mountain sad to see this kind of suff happening, and esp so close to the holidays.
