Hi everyone! I am coming to Cali from AZ by myself and will be making a playstop at Snow Summit on Monday July 1st. I would love to have a local to go riding with and show me the ropes at the bike park. I will be bringing my DH bike and will only be able to ride one day, so I would like to ride the lift access DH trails. I plan on riding from open to close.

My previous riding experience is everything at Angel Fire, Pajarito, Sunrise, and lots of fun shuttle stuff here in AZ. I like the challenging trails, jumps, drop offs, rocks, pretty much anything as long as it isn't flat and boring.

Anyone interested? I will be staying in Redlands on Sunday night and driving up via 18 in the morning, so carpooling from there is possible. (i have a big truck) I may not be the fastest rider out there, but I am more fun then a barrel full of monkeys....I promise. And we can eat some rad burgers or mex food afterwards.

Brenda - there are only two trails open at Snow Summit right now. Both are fun, but neither are true black diamond runs. You won't need anyone to show you the ropes, but it is always fun to ride with someone. I ran the trails for the first time this past weekend and was able to keep up with most of the big bikes and hit all the features (except one) on just my 5.5" trailbike. It was tons of fun. There are a few step-ups, a couple of wooden drops, some short rocky sections, a wooden wall ride and lots and lots of berms. All of the features can be rolled, except one step-up that I chose to ride around. By your post and your screen name, I am guessing you would not need to ride around or roll the features. The crew up there is always working to water the trails and modify or add trail reinforcement, new features and perhaps even a new trail or two by the time July 1 rolls around.

I am told there are many "off-the-grid" trails that are pretty tough, but are not legal.

Can't miss that Monday, otherwise I would be happy to have you school me on the big step-up. Enjoy!

New trails would be great! I didn't want to go on a weekend because I don't like waiting in lift lines....hopefully it won't be crowded. Do they really water the trails? That would be so nice! Would all of the trails be open on a monday? or would they close them for maintenance? Leon, do you have a DH bike? or do you rock the SS up there?

I take the DH bike up there, the SS usually has the weekends off.
besides the 2 trails recently built, the other non mentioned trails around and fun, a little steep and rocky on some areas, but nothing crazy.

Gnar Gnar is very cool, I ride with them quite a bit. They help fuel my DH addiction. Destroyer, as it gets closer I will get in touch and see if you are going.

Brenda, this is Suzanne Wilson. I'd love to return the favor and show you around, but we will be in Durango, CO during your SoCal visit. The hospitality you have shown to visitors in Sedona is exceptional. As others have mentioned, there are other trails not shown on Snow Summit's map and w/o a guide, some of them would be difficult to find. Here's hoping you find someone to show you around!

Thanx Suzanne! And sorry I can't go to CO with you this time, gotta babysit my sister's kids for the week. You coming back next winter? So many people had invited me to go out of state that very week, too funny.

Mr Flash, let's do it. There are a few people who may be able to show us around, should be a great time.
