Road Ride Anyone interested in weekday dawn patrol rides in LB?

Greetings.

After doing 4 months of crunch with basically no exercise of any kind, I am now horribly out of shape and need to lose a significant amount of weight. Seeing as misery loves company, I was thinking of doing regular rides in Downtown Long Beach/Belmont Shore every Tuesday and Thursday morning; 5am start time. The planned loop would be from the front of the Rock Bottom Brewery, ride to the Queen Mary, around the parking structure, then onto the beach bikepath and ride to the very end at the Los Alamitos Channel, then back along the bikepath to the brewery.

Loop is about 15 miles or so, with basically no climbing. Pace will be slow, but feel free to drop people as you see fit. To get the ball rolling (and to force myself to start exercising) I will be starting from this Thursday, the 2nd. If you're in, post here or just show up at Rock Bottom 5-ish. I will be the fat white guy on a blue KHS road bike wearing mountain bike stuff for the most part.

So, anyone interested? Be there AND be square!

 

I used to do road rides around Long Beach around that time, but mainly in the summer and usually on a weekend. I am a big fan of riding up Signal Hill. Right now, I can't handle the cold mornings!! Good luck finding a partner.
