Funny you mentioned both of these seatposts ed cause those are the two Im considering. The only thing I dont like about the gravity dropper turbo is how the line comes out at a 90 degree angle and thats why I was leaning towards the KS. But I do like the simplicity of the GD.

Is that with the seat in correct spot? If so how much more can you lower the seat?

If my math is right, if you can lower it another 1.5" you could run the KS with no issues.

I pulled the KS i950 from my bike and its about from seat rail to bottom of post is 15.5" , but from seat rails to the max insertion point is around 8" so that means you seat would have to go up a little more. You have enough seat tube area left but it may leave your seat too high.

yeah. all stuff i didn't want to hear :). i think the safe route would be looking at a 350mm or 300mm and go with a 3-4" drop

I have the Gravity Dropper, and I LOVE IT!! Has worked perfectly every time; they will configure many different configurations and if you need a specific length, they may be willing to cut it to what ever length you need, just call em up- they were super friendly.
Best bang for the buck on a MTB component EVER!!! $$$$$

I would still try one out, you never know it might just fit. Were talking less then 1/2" and who says that both our measurements are right on.

The only post I know that's less the 380mm no matter the drop is the Gravity Dropper 3" dropper.

you can still use the 5in version, it just gonna do a nut cracker routine if its too high.
all kidding aside, when you try to raise up the post on the KS, it does not ramp up hard enough to bust the nut. at least that is how i feel it.
if you are around the Irvine area, you can check out my post to test fit on your bike ( 5'' version on Mid Reign)

Cant help you with your seatpost problem, but I can say I am a little jealous as that is my dream bike (well the X2 at least, the 0 is a little bit of a stretch even for my dreams).

I just went through this myself the last couple of weeks. I saw the Crank Brothers Joplin on sale and it just got into my head. Unfortunately I needed a 27.2 and that post while a great price ($129) won’t fit. So, I did a bunch of searching and found my two options were Gravity Dropper and KS. I decided in the KS after being shown one at a shop. They were out of stock on the 27.2 and couldn't get a firm date from any of the distributors when more would arrive. I called KS and they were super friendly which set my mind at ease on the decision to go with them (plus they are local). They directed me to The Bike Co in Irvine who had a few left. I went out to get it and found a great shop I hadn't visited before. They all ride the KS and are super knowledgeable. They even called me back to check in on the install after I had a minor user error getting started as the manual is for the larger versions which don’t have the external housing so set up a bit different. I can't give a good use review yet as I've only got one ride on it but the folks at KS and The Bike Co were excellent. I would give them both a try.

Man, you have got to be joking/trolling. If not I'd like to tell you that if you don't have to drop your seat post on the trails you ride those trails are not hard. I'd be more than willing to have you follow me down some local stuff with your seat up, it'd be worth a laugh.

I bought my x0 frame for $730, and I swapped out parts from my old bike initially. I just added new parts as I found deals. A year later, everything's new. Set your dreams higher!
