This one is for you Ed (monstertiki).. this is that A Line run end of the day on Monday that Ryan took with your crew.. He's following Matt and Craig, I believe Sarah and one of her brothers were following him..

Note to Snow Summit: this jump trail is the standard by which most are measured, this is a high speed advanced jump line and the lips are no where near the steepness to what you're building.. :)

Looking Super Steezy on a couple of those jumps! I hope the guys up at snow summit can figure out a balance on those lips, you don't even need that much lip. I wish they would figure it out and fix the issue everyone is complaining about. It's all in the preload not the lip... This video does this justice, thanks for the share!

Most people will only dream to be so good. It was a pleasure riding with Ryan. That kid is good and I mean it. I will even go as far to say he is better than most of the riders I know that ride dh and park stuff and he's only 10! on 24" wheels (650b what?) I was amazed to hear him say he likes to do a run combo like Original sin, to goats gully(many consider whistlers most difficult tech trail), to in-deep, to d1 all on the same run and he would do that all day. I look forward to seeing him progress and get stronger as he ages.

On a side note. I am saddened to see what has become of the GLC drop this year. It has been reduced to curb status... The plus side I still love dirtmerchant, and consider that my favorite jump line. The new drop in the beginning is fun. I do think summit needs to send their park builders to whistler to understand what all the fuss is about. Whistler does have summit style lips and jumps but they are in the jump park down by the parking lot stacked about 20 deep with 4 progressive lines.

That's awesome! I still remember seeing him hit some drops on his coaster brake bike a couple years ago at Bootleg Canyon!

    Keep it up!

Ed we had a great time with you and Ryan can't wait to ride with you again. I appreciate the kind words.. it's funny at least you got to experience first hand that it's not easy keeping up with him :) I am exhausted just thinking about all that was covered in 5 days of park.. and you're so right, he would run that combo non stop from 10 am to 8 pm if allowed to do so.. oh to be 10 with some skillz.. thanks again for being so patient with him when he was driving us crazy diving into black diamonds for our warm up runs on day 1.. his definition of warm up is clearly different from most :)

I too had the pleasure of TRYING to keep up with Ryan this year at Whistler. That kid about killed me. I got to witness his first sail over Dwayne Johnson...even before Dad did. Also was there to see his first D1 run. I look forward to saying "I knew him when...." some day when he is winning World Cup titles!

I'm glad I got to hang with you guys up there...hopefully next year we can do it again.

Matt it was awesome.. I'm stoked we had the same week in Whistler planned.. good times for sure. Ryan really enjoyed hanging out with you.. it's cool being up there with a few different groups of riders you know, seeing people in the lift line or taking laps.. it's like hanging out in your local park, only it's WAY cooler than anything local.. what a great trip this year was!! Can't wait for next year!!

BTW, here is a collection of pics we purchased from Coast Mountain Photography. A couple were taken on the mountain at designated spots, but we also hired a photographer on the last day and he captured some good ones..

Terrin have fun and stay safe.. you're a dad now! But make sure to check out the new version of Dirt Merchant.. it's a tad big on the new hits for my full comfort zone but it's a sweet new version of an old favorite..
