It really all depends where you start. I live in South OC and getting to the 91 to the 60 is way out of my way. I can get through the Ortega Hwy and over to the other side in less time than it would take me to get all the way to the 60 fwy.

Gene, I am heading up saturday morning. Since I live in laguna hills I was thinking of taking Ortega Highway as well. How long does it take you to get there?

Usually a couple hours. I'd give yourself about 2 1/2 to get here so you have plenty of time of you need to stop along the way.

It is quicker going thru Hemet using the Ramona Expressway than Highway 74.

Because I like back county roads use I Cajaico Road off Highway 15...go past Lake Mathews to Ramona Expressway. I avoid Ortega Highway, to many closures from people going off the road.

Please everybody bring warm sleeping clothes- Weather.com is a little high in my experience and right now it feels pretty damn cold lol.

The riding weather should be perfect, it looks like we might get a touch of moisture in the air tonight so the trails will be all sticky and awesome. I'll be riding Friday during the day but not Saturday (because I'm getting tattoo'd Friday night). But I am still going to come to the campground Saturday night so I can meet you all and hang out...

I'm not gonna make it for the whole weekend, but might make it there for Saturday's ride.

Do not underestimate the potential for VERY cold nights at Hurkey Creek CG. I have spent enough nights there to know it can be WAY colder than you'd think it would get at only 4,500' of elevation. And like any mountain area, the weather can change very quickly.

    Have fun out there!
