I'm wanting to get my feet wet; is anyone interested in starting a team for the heck of it? I will have to admit that I'm not a fast rider so any team that may be formed won't have much of a chance of placing high. I just want to do it for the experience.

I'll be up for this race if you are forming a non-competitive team. I'm set in terms of lighting. I have 1 FS and 1 back up FS bike. Only have 1 SS if you are signing up under SS. Let me know if you get anything going.

Like I said before, yeah. It's the experience, not the result I'm interested in. Let's put something together now, peeps. We've already got the "high potential" team shaping up, now let's hear from the also-rans, the DNF's, the noob's and the unrealistically hopeful...aka: my kind of folk.

I might be interested in this Dell, I think it would be a fun experience. I have an HID lightset also.

I'm in on the non-highpotential team. Just got back into riding a couple weeks ago but gym+rides every week are helping.

Right on, Rob. Will you be playing team wrench as well? Might be an unfair advantage, but I'll take it.

Candles and mayo jars, bro! Seriously, maybe pool funds for another decent system and just pick up some extra mounts? Could hot swap it between laps, put one on the current riders bike and one on the charger mtnbikej mentioned. Maybe donate it to the prize/swag pile afterward?

Yes! I think I smell a team (or three) forming...or is that our chances of placing?

Seems to be plenty of "just in it for the experience" interest...should we be considering a corporate team? I'm new to this too...

I only have a halogen bar mount system but I could get an HID system before event day.

You know, I actually prefer halogen to the HID, unless it's a high-end HID system with lots of power. The blue tint looks darker on the trail IMHO...the halogen might not have the same intensity, but the yellowish color of light seems to work better for me than blue. :?:

I have a L&M ARC HID Li-Ion that I use on my helmet. I find it to be so white, that it washes out, and makes trail obstacles difficult to destinguish. Before doing any night racing, I'd really want to put a light up on the bars. In my case, probably a slightly lower end L&M Halogen or something like that.

hey L8,try looking at the turbo cat web site,it's rather infomative.like the previous post mentioned, start with a bar mount lite, hid bulbs cost about 130$ to replace, the turbo cat was 15 / 30.ive got an 8yr old 6w turbo cat i just replaced the batt. 15$ cool company.the new lite ive got from them is a 47w total 12 low beam 35 hi awsome lite.

No go with Turbo Cat...the closest thing they had for me was a NiCad water bottle battery @ 4.5Ahrs, at a price of $120. I called a battery shop and they can build me an 8Ahr NiMh pack that matches my OE pack for $77. Trouble is, I can't afford that, either.

So at this point, I'm gonna be taping flashlights to my handlebars once my lone battery dies. Am I cool or what?!

The way I see it, there is the Realistically Hopefull, Unrealistically Hopefull, and finally the Realistically Unhopefull. That last one is the one for me!

    No Need

hey guys there's no need to spend 400$ and up for a lite system, hid is overkill. 10-12w lites are fine, dont forget you've got to have a TAIL LITE. something they require at 24hr. races,no tail no race.mmmmmmm taaaiiill.:D

After realizing the 24Hours of OC is the second event in the Warriors Society series. And I already have points from my first place at the Cytomax. I re-arranged some stuff I could race this! The only way to gain more series points is by racing solo.

So I'll be out there SOLO. Lets start training steve.....](*,)
